The Napanee region is home to some outstanding local wineries, cideries and breweries! If you’re thirsty, stop by and sample a drink for yourself!
Buy the Grapevine: Buy the Grapevine is a retail wine and beer making supply store carrying Vineco and Winexpert wine kit products. They carry all the supplies and equipment needed to make wine and beer at home or in their store. 71 John St., Napanee 613-354-4769
The Napanee Beer Company: Stop in to this microbrewery to sample craft beer and chat with Geordan Saunders, one of Canada’s most highly awarded amateur brewers. Decide for yourself which of the brew you like the best: the Belgian Pale Ale (Mayday); German Black Lager (Blacklist); or their Premium Lager (Deadline). Try one of their special edition brews available monthly. 450 Milligan Lane, Napanee Tel. 613409-2337
Twelve Barrels: Twelve Barrels is based on a Canadian Whisky first distilled in 1853, on the shores of the Napanee River. Twelve Barrels receives most of its flavour from two sources, the grains and the barrels for aging. John Meagher, the distiller Twelve Barrels bases their recipe off of, was a gristmill owner in Napanee and the local grain of choice was wheat. This leads Twelve Barrels to be quite different when compared to Crown Royal or Forty Creek.
Explore the Waterfront!
Whether you are planning a nice relaxing day by the water, or on the water, downtown Greater Napanee is the perfect location! Stroll along the boardwalk and enjoy the river. Enjoy a beautiful walk and take in the sights of the Springside Parks Falls and the Napanee River. Picnic and watch wildlife alongside a fully accessible path that’ll take you all the way to Conservation Park. Watch trains pass along the trestle bridge and take in the gently cascading waterfall.
