Elke Jungbluth has aced the craft of vibrant, gestured makings. By use of acrylic and oil, she paints mindfully – considering her dreams of world peace and translating such hopefulness in expressive forms on canvas and linen. The seed of artistry in her possession was first watered during her time in university studying architecture. Throughout the years, Jungbluth has worked in a conceptual manner; continuously nurturing the methods she learned from past to present. Forward thinking is especially pertinent in her art. “With my work I would like to remind everybody that it is important to find the right movement in life,” she says. “To make every hour worth living, and to believe in the dreams we have got and to never give up!” This display of Jungbluth’s humanity exhibits naturally in her paintings with inviting streaks, swirls, and speckles that compliment an equally pleasant palette of luminous yellows, emotive blues, and savory greens.
The tone of her work retains a certain familiarity–both in color and composure–and it is perhaps the abstraction of Claude Monet’s lullful scenes and other musings that best describe Jungbluth’s creations. Retired from architecture, she now works as a full-time artist and continues to paint with colors she considers as gifts from Heaven above.

Movement is a fundamental part of my being. I consciously build it into my daily routine from the moment I wake up. Movement helps us stay healthy. Movement is life; without movement there is nothing. Movement saves the world, a task too ambitious for any of us. The movement of music is especially inspiring for me. In my studio I only listen to Beethoven, a rebel who defied the musical laws as I defy the predominant techniques of painting. In my art I find the nonexistent on the terrain of the colorful world, based on the principle that “movement follows shapes.” Drawing on my architectural background, I lay down the structural foundations of the work with the underpainting, as support for the free-flowing chaos of joyful twirls and curves. My art is designed from within, as I consciously or unconsciously surrender to the movement of life. In movement there are encounters and events that make our life worth living, be they positive or negative. These experiences shape us and it is precisely these shapes that I create on the canvas, conjuring an atmosphere that draws the viewer in, inviting them to indulge in their dreams or, at best, live them.
