30 Under 30 in Agriculture
Since discovering his passion for agriculture in high school, Griffin Huelsman has done everything in his power to learn about the industry. His determination and perseverance led him to his current position as the herd manager for Mulberry Orchard, a highly diversified farm operation. Griffin’s primary focus revolves around the cow-calf operation on the farm, but, he also assists in the farms other enterprises, including grain and oil seed production, tobacco, hay, and peach and apple orchards. He helps in running the agritoursim piece of Mulberry Orchard which includes a farmer’s market, educational tours and other educational events. Griffin’s goal for 2019 was to rent his first farm and purchase a foundation set of maternal female heifers. He accomplished this goal early by purchasing a herd of foundation heifers from Oak Hollow. “After I concluded my research, I grouped together, in my mind, the most efficient cow herd I could start out with,” Griffin said. “I am beyond excited to become an Angus Seed-stock producer.
