sam bassett Filmmaker and photographer, Sam Bassett’s innate connection with form and composition were planted in Sam at an early age from his architect mother and sculptor father. This laid the foundation for the acute understanding of self expressionism through visual imagery. Sam’s track record for overcoming adversity is long and includes many accomplishments such as learning to fly airplanes at age 11 and flying rescue missions over southern Florida during Hurricane Andrew. At Syracuse University Sam played lacrosse, ending his athletic career as a captain of the 2000 division one national championship team. After graduation, Sam moved to New York City and photography took his life and art in a new direction that would open minds and hearts alike. Through much self discovery during the process of learning to capture inspiring imagery Sam persevered, eventually gaining the attention for major magazines and famous characters who began turning to Sam for his beautifully structured and unique photographs. What his subjects ended up getting was an experience of clarity of thought and direct connection to a creative consciousness.
