infrastructural area. In this context Mičevecalso gets a chance to become a “newly discovered” city district, its new south facade. The approach to solving layered economic and spatial problems is significantly affected by accommodation potentials in the wider area and specific local attributes: the proximity of the coastal belt of the Sava River, as well as the valuable agricultural area which survived as such thanks to its continuous use. Also nearby are various attractive facilities - the future recreational park Jakuševec and the Šćitarjevo excursion site. The purpose, programs and ways of utilizing the immediate area of Mičevec, as well as the proposal for the building structures, all had to be sized according to the existing situation (built areas) and planned spatial interventions, regional and local transport connections and accessibility, the existing infrastructure and specific spatial elements, landscape protection and ambiance values. The one-semester mentor guided design studio resulted in a range of ideas which could be incorporated into the future development plan of Mičevec as part of the future Zagreb agglomeration. They reflect subjective worldviews of their authors, unencumbered by stiff planning conventions. Although often focused on one aspect only, these concepts and spatial solutions cover a wide range of visions - from rural Arcadian to metropolitan urban image of the village. In conclusion, it is precisely these dualities, which in addition to physicalanticipate the content substance of the city as well, that point out to the dilemmas we carry deeply inside while thinking about the future in conjunction with requirements for the development, but at the same time also for spatial protection.

Rezultati radionice u jednosemestralnom, mentorski vođenom radu pokazali su raspon ideja koje bi mogle biti ugrađene u budući razvojni plan naselja Mičevec kao dijela buduće zagrebačke aglomeracije. U njima se ogledaju subjektivni svjetonazorski okviri njihovih autora, neopterećeni krutom planerskom pragmom. Premda često usmjerene samo na jedan aspekt, ove koncepcije i prostorna rješenja variraju u širokom rasponu vizija - od ruralno arkadijske do metropolitanski urbane slike mjesta. Zaključno, upravo ove dualnosti, koje osim fizičke anticipiraju i sadržajnu supstanciju grada, upućuju na dileme koje duboko nosimo u sebi promišljajući budućnost u sprezi zahtjeva za razvojem, ali istovremeno i zaštitom prostora.
