Annual General Meeting 2016 Board Report Cards Get Thumbs Up from Members
I
n a first for the Yayasan AFS Malaysia Board, report cards detailing each Board member’s achievements and contributions in the past year were presented to AGM attendees. The new agenda item was welcomed by members who unanimously gave the thumbs up to the initiative. “This gives us a quick overview of what the Board member has done in the past year and we can appreciate better the Board’s work and role in AFS,” said Ampang Chapter President Nuriah Manap. Perlis Chapter Advisor and Malaysia’s first Galatti award winner Siti Khadijah Hassan also complimented the move towards greater transparency. “It is not just the National Office and Chapters that are undergoing winds of change with documentation and streamlining of processes, but it is good to know that even the Board is making changes together with the rest of us,” she said. Apart from their fiduciary duties, Board members are required to conduct at least one knowledge sharing session annually with staff or volunteers and make an annual financial contribution to the organisation.
