Ground was officially broken on the Belfast Mine in July this year and has been dubbed the “first of its kind digital mine” due to a digital twin that has been created simultaneously. This digital replica is a complete replica of the mine and will allow management and contractors to connect and manage the workload remotely and identify problems in real-time, reducing downtime and increasing the safety of the operation.
