KEY PERSONEL Carmelo G. Garcia, MSIS, IM, PHM, ARM, HRM Board of Directors, Member Won 4th term as president of the Hoboken Board of Education. Has educational background in Criminal Justice, Sociology and Information Systems. Served the City of Hoboken as Director of Health & Human Services for 6 years. Also served as chief of staff to the Board of Chosen Freeholders from 1999 – 2005. He’s past President of the Hoboken Puerto Rican Cultural Committee, the Applied Housing Tenant Assoc. He was Founder of Hoboken’s Save the Youth Academy for at risk teens which has reduced juvenile delinquency by 22% in the city. He has been recognized by U.S. Senator Robert Menendez, Former Governors Christine Whitman, and Jim McGreevy, U.S. Senators Robert Torricelli and John Corzine for his advocacy & leadership in public service, policy & education

Mr. Ernest Kwabena Opong Director of Print Media Publication Born in Ghana. Taught at the Borough of Manhattan Community College (CUNY) for over a decade; worked as a copy editor for White & Case LLP, one of the biggest law firms in New York and later RR Donnelly. He is the founder, editor in chief, and publisher of Amandla, a newspaper serving African Diaspora community since 2003. He is a journalist and a human rights advocate. Education: BA (Hons) Philosophy; MS (Mass Communications).

Mr. Mamadou Kone Director of African Views Television (AV-TV) Pursuing his Master degree in diplomacy and international affairs, Mamadou founded of the founder of the African Day parade, whose mission is to bring together all people of African descent and to showcase and celebrate the beauty, richness and diversity of the African Culture--observed in NYC since 2005. With more than 6 years Marketing experience with Global advertising strategy as Manager of the Africa of the African department, Afrocarrib marketing group as general manager. Kone also have 5 years of television and video production experience. His experiences include working at Manhattan neighborhood network, the Youth Channel and ABC (good morning America). Kone’s passion for community development has driven him to mentor, volunteer and fundraise with organizations such as; Global actions project, Youth at risk; Youth channel , Miss guinea Organization, Miss Mali Organization , Mossisa, Burkinabe women association, etc...
