Otilia y Gabita comparten la misma habitación en una residencia universitaria. Ambas estudian en la Universidad de una pequeña ciudad de Rumanía, durante los últimos años del comunismo. Otilia alquila una habitación en un hotel de mala muerte. Conocen al Sr. Bebe. Gabita está embarazada; el aborto es ilegal. Ninguna de ellas se había enfrentado a una situación así.

Otilia and Gabita share the same room in a University’s dormitory. They both study in a small town’s University in Romania, during the last years of communism. Otilia rents a room in a scruffy hotel. They meet Mr Bebe. Gabita is pregnant; abortion is illegal. None of them has ever faced such a situation before.
