Some Symptoms of Pride

VI.IDOLS: The definition of an idol is a false god or an object that is adored or worshipped. An example of an idol is a rock that people pray to as their God.

VII. PRIDE: The Cambridge English Dictionary defines pride as a feeling of pleasure and satisfaction that you get because you or people connected with you have done or got something good. For Example; a. She felt a great sense of pride as she watched him accept the award. b. He felt such pride walking his little daughter down the street c. He shows great pride in his work and has no false modesty about his success.

SOME SYMPTOMS OF PRIDE

The following are just a few. i. Ego trip ii. Vanity iii. Self-righteousness iv. Importance v. Intellectualism vi. Driven vii. Argumentative viii.Compellation ix. Rationalization x. Arrogance xi. Haughtiness

All of the afore mentioned symptoms are notable character traits the youth of today suffer and need refraining from or careful control. Failure to do so may have dire ramifications on our future. Desisting from such vices or being responsible about them is one sure way of securing our future.

Currently, many of our youth, one way or the other, are involved in so many vices either for selfish gain or because of pressure from peers and sometimes the society. Vices such as; i. Smoking ii. Prostitution iii. Armed Robbery iv. Money Rituals v. Fraud vi. Excessive Alcohol intake

These vices, among others, are gradually wiping out our once vibrant youth. But I am confident, if we can discipline ourselves by remaining focused, be hard working and God fearing, we can achieve anything.
