CHAPTER 2 SELF-CONCIOUSNESS

NEVER LOOK DOWN ON YOURSELF

Men are anxious to improve their circumstances, but are unwilling to improve themselves; they, therefore, remain bound. The man who does not shrink from self-crucifixion can never fail to accomplish the objectives upon which his heart is set. This is true of earthly as of heavenly things. Even the man whose objective is to acquire wealth must be prepared to make great personal sacrifices, how much more he who would realize a strong and well-poised life.

Never look down upon yourself because no one knows tomorrow. Life could be really terrible but there are so many ways of making life easier and comfortable for yourself. Never let bad friends influence you. Bad influence they say can cause failure in life because …your influencer may be looking forward to destroying you and bringing you down to his level. You may have a great future but because you allowed yourself to be negatively influenced by friends, all you have laboured for could automatically go down the drain for good. Therefore never put your trust in people but only in God and yourself. Doing it yourself can help you achieve a lot in life. Working by yourself, more often than not, helps you create your vision and common goals for tomorrow.
