Commitment to achieving Net Zero: AFK Studios is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050.

Baseline emissions are a record of the greenhouse gases that have been produced in the past and were produced prior to the introduction of any strategies to reduce emissions. Baseline emissions are the reference point against which emissions reduction can be measured.
Baseline Year: 2024/25 (July – June)
Additional Details relating to the Baseline Emissions calculations.
As this is AFK Studios’ first year of measuring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions, the 2025 data represents our baseline year. This baseline will serve as the foundation against which we will track and compare our future performance, set targets, and evaluate progress.
Baseline year emissions:
Scope 1
tonnes CO2e
Scope 2 9.71 tonnes CO2e
Scope 3 (Included Sources)
tonnes CO2e
AFK Studios has set a baseline year (2025) emissions footprint of 116.09 tonnes CO2e.
In order to continue our progress to achieving Net Zero, we have adopted the following carbon reduction targets.
We project that carbon emissions will decrease over the next five years to 87.0675 tCO2e by 2030. This is a reduction of 25%.
This will be achieved through energy efficiency initiatives, transitioning to renewable electricity sources, and reducing Scope 3 impacts through sustainable procurement and travel policies. Longer-term, AFK Studios is committed to aligning with net-zero goals by 2050 or earlier.

AFK Studios has set a commitment to achieve net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050, with a 2025 baseline footprint of 116.09 tonnes CO2e. This long-term target aligns with global climate goals and allows for steady, measurable progress.
As 2025 represents the baseline, no specific environmental management measures or projects have been completed yet.
However, we are working on implementing the following measures in order to achieve the identified reductions against the 2025 baseline:
Efficiency, renewable energy, and improved data quality.
▪ Upgrading to 100% LED lighting and smart building controls to reduce operational energy.
▪ Introducing IT energy-saving practices (automatic shut-offs, powering down PCs).
▪ Carrying out waste audits to target reductions in landfill and improve recycling.
▪ Securing 100% renewable electricity by 2029.
▪ Strengthen data collection for Scope 3 emissions, particularly supplier and employee commuting data.
▪ Reduce emissions by 25% from baseline (29 tCO2e) by 2030.
Decarbonising operations and supply chain.
▪ Replace all company vehicles with electric or zero-emission alternatives.
▪ Establish sustainable travel policies to reduce flight-related emissions.
▪ Prioritise low-carbon and circular procurement practices with suppliers.
▪ Implement zero-to-landfill waste strategy by 2035.
▪ Achieve a 50% emissions reduction from baseline (58 tCO2e) by 2040.

Final decarbonisation and removals.
▪ Integrate emerging clean technologies i.e. carbon-neutral fuels, energy storage.
▪ Invest in carbon removal projects (nature-based solutions and engineered removals).
▪ Collaborate with industry partners to reduce value chain emissions to the lowest feasible levels.
▪ Reduce emissions by 90% from baseline (12 tCO2e) and offset unavoidable residuals to achieve net zero by 2050.
Supporting Initiatives
▪ Employee Engagement: Training and awareness campaigns to embed sustainability into company culture.
▪ Governance: Annual emissions reporting with transparent disclosure of progress and recalculations where necessary.
▪ Partnerships: Collaborating with suppliers, clients, and peers to accelerate decarbonisation across the creative sector.
Milestone Targets
▪ 2030: 20–25% reduction (87–93 tCO2e).
▪ 2040: 50% reduction (58 tCO2e).
▪ 2050: 90%+ reduction (12 tCO2e) + offsetting of residuals → Net Zero.

This Carbon Reduction Plan has been completed in accordance with PPN 06/21 and associated guidance and reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans.
Emissions have been reported and recorded in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the GHG Reporting Protocol corporate standard and uses the appropriate Government emission conversion factors for greenhouse gas company reporting.
Scope 1 and Scope 2 emissions have been reported in accordance with SECR requirements, and the required subset of Scope 3 emissions have been reported in accordance with the published reporting standard for Carbon Reduction Plans and the Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
This Carbon Reduction Plan has been reviewed and signed off by the board of directors (or equivalent).
