TYPE OF SERVICE
Conception of envelopes & Environmental consulting : AFI performs missions of architectural design and technical engineering of special envelopes , using specific methods based on both constructive know-how and innovative spirit. Our process relies on efficient green technologies worked out as a result of the environmental analysis of the project.
Pluridisciplinary interface between architecture and engineering: Our transversal practice is based on a pluridisciplinary approach with the aim of conciliating technical requirements with the architectural expression of the project : lighting, thermics, acoustics, structure, security, maintenance, all aspects being treated in line with the architectural concept.
Environmental strategy and architectural optimization : Our approach focuses on the essential issues conditionning the environmental integration of the project, then customized solutions are being developed accordingly ; the conception of envelopes is considered as a key point for both realizing substantial energy savings and improving the user’s comfort.

WORKING AXIS
Environmental integration : Our conception approach carefully takes into account the bioclimatic parameters, site datas and usage criterias, in accurate coherence with the architectural expression ; such a global approach of the project aims at reducing the energetic consumption of the building meanwhile optimizing the user’s comfort and the quality of spaces.
The façade as active envelope : The façade is considered as an active envelope, whose conception will directly influence the thermal behaviour of the whole building ; the correlation with the engineering of air treatment systems will allow to define precisely the correct permeability level of the skin and adequate related devices, meanwhile aiming to optimize solutions of natural ventilation.
The façade as sensitive filter : The façade is considered as a sensitive filter, whose conception will significantly affect the visual comfort of users and the habitability of spaces ; the settings of the lighting datas as adapted to each type of use will allow to define accurately the filtering and diffusion level of the lighting flux, meanwhile aiming to optimize solutions of natural lighting.

Design & Conception of ETFE roofs : AFI Aeraulic simulations : OPTIFLOW Construction : NOVUM Client : APSYS AFI mission : Designer and Conceptor of ETFE roofs Conception of two transparent roofs designed as lightweight structures with ETFE membrane cladding in form of inflated cushions spanning from one edge to the other of the mall without any intermediate joint. The cushions are fritted on the exterior skin for daylight modulation and solar control, meanwhile the roofs are naturally ventilated thanks to the longitudinal apertures allowing fresh air to circulate under the vaults.
