The Finest Grass Fed Natural Beef from New Zealand

Our Natural Land New Zealand’s remote, green pastures naturally produce the healthiest, most trusted beef in the world.

Beef in many countries requires finishing of cattle in covered feedlots with grain-based diets. High-intensity living can mean increased use of antibiotics, and high-costs encourage the use of growth promoting hormone treatments. In comparison, New Zealand’s temperate climate allows year-round support of beef production on open pasture. With clean rainfall and natural sunlight, cattle do not require systematic use of antibiotics or growth promotants in order to thrive. For over 115 years AFFCO has been trusted to provide the best natural beef in the world. We are proudly 100% New Zealand-owned and proud of our reputation for consistency and trust.

NATURAL DIET

Cows consume natural diet of grass that captures the energy of sunlight, and New Zealand’s clean rain water and air. In Winter, they may eat silage or hay.

ROAM FREELY IN PASTURES

Cows are free to roam and graze on pasture. The exercise, low stress and varied natural diet keep them strong and healthy.

NO HORMONES OR ANTIBIOTICS

Wide open spaces and a nature-based diet naturally leads to strong healthy cattle. No hormone treatment is ever required, and should an animal fall ill, a minimum 60-day stand-down is applied before that animal can ever be processed.

HEALTHIER, MORE NUTRITIOUS

Significantly higher in Omega 3s for brain development, reduced inflammation and heart health. Much higher in beta-carotene/vitamin A (more good yellow fat!) which benefits our immune system and eye health. Naturally high in vitamin B12 which can only be found in food from animal origin. B12 is critical anytime cells are rapidly dividing such as in growing children and pregnant mothers. There are two types of Iron in food; haem iron (from haemoglobin/ myoglobin in meat), and non-haem-iron from plants. AFFCO natural beef is high in haem iron which is absorbed by the body at twice the rate of non-heam iron, which is critical for the development of growing muscles and for pregnant women.

CORN BASED DIET

Cows are fed grains like corn, soy and distiller grains. This leads to unnaturally fattened cattle.

CONFINED TO FEED LOTS

Cows kept indoors for most of their lives. They have restricted movement making them fatter but more prone to communal diseases.

GIVEN HORMONES AND ANTIBIOTICS

Hormones such as testosterone and oestrogen are used to boost growth up to 15%, and close-quarter living conditions require more frequent use of antibiotics.

MORE FAT, LESS NUTRIENTS

Fat is marbled through the muscle fibres, so contains up to four times more fat, which can’t be cut off or avoided. There are more calories and a higher ratio of Omega-6 to Omega-3.

Natural Beef is an important provider of nutrients to our diets. It is the main source of easily absorbed iron, haem iron, zinc and vitamin B12. It’s also a key source of protein and contains Omega 6 and Omega 3 fatty acids which aids normal brain function and cardiovascular health.
