Predictive process control involves the ability to monitor and control a continuous material process in real time. This allows the conditions of the process to be quickly and responsively adjusted, and avoids the delays associated with monitoring the final product. A hierarchy of LANs has also emerged, ranging from general to the more specialized, and from Ethernet to FDDI systems, each with its own specific usage. The data handled is more than just a control data, it also includes a variety of operational and processing data, seeking to establish comprehensive systems that embrace both data systems and control systems. After analyzing Kuttler’s special requirements, Advantech recommended an OEM version of its PPC-L157T Panel PC. The PPC-L157T industrial panel PC features a 15” color TFT LCD and Intel® Atom™ N270 processor with fanless design and variety of ports for scores of applications. The device is safe and reliable in industrial sites; it can control and display shop floor data outperforming other human interfaces with speedy information processing and networking functions. PPC-L157T is IP65 certified for water and dust-proof protection, and it can resist vibration and impacts.

Centralized Operation Control Terminal for Material Weighing Feeder Model: PPC-L128T Kubota is a famous, leading weighing scale company well known since the development of mechanical scales. Its distinguished professional skills have been widely recognized in Japan and the worldwide market. Plastics have been widely used in many fields such as consumer electronics and automobiles due to their perfect characteristics of strength, heat resistance and ease of processing. It is impossible to produce high quality plastics without having a very precise control system to manage the different material feeders. To control different kinds of weighing feeders (belt, liquid, single screw cassette, etc), there must be a reliable system between the control center and the machines. This allows terminals to easily receive parameters from a controlling PC in order to manage multiple feeders. The system can also monitor multiple feeders concurrently by using a color LCD touch panel for all operations processes. With versatile I/O and a fanless design, Advantech’s PPC-L128T was chosen by Kubota as a centralized operation control terminal.
