When it comes to shaping the shoulders, designer Anniken prefers the German short row method. Here’s how you do it: Work to the turning point and turn so you’re ready to work the next row. With the yarn in front, slip the first stitch purlwise then take the working yarn over the RH needle and pull up on the stitch until the stitch from the last row pulls across the RH needle and looks like a double stitch. Now knit or purl as instructed. When you come to the ‘double stitches’ on the next row, just knit the two strands together as one stitch.
