People ask if we are a blog or magazine, we are truly a fusion of both styles creating a unique digital destination that is interactive and modern. On our website we blog about fashion events, travel, beauty and so much more. Building on that success I decided to create digital publications (short magazines) about the different series we started on the site, for easy sharing. Within the last year we produced the Lookout which features Caribbean designers and Style Switch a fashion series. During Trinidad and Tobago's Carnival we started SyleTrip a series about the fashion we spot at different events and destinations. We then created Adornami Magazine as an expansion of our previous work incorporating our Style Trip series and editorials. Adornami Magazine will be released every two months with a spectrum of editorials, stories, interviews and a recollection of our Style Trip adventures during the period. We hope to take a Style Trip to different countries in the Caribbean and around the world. Our cover story was inspired by Tobago Jazz. At Jazz we met Arita Edmund and a week later interviewed and photographed the talented artist. Inside Issue 2 learn about the brand Tobago Bag and enj oy our local and international editorials. Also, view style trip photos from Tobago Jazz, New Fire Festival and our road trip with stylist Crystal Ivy London. Learn about two featured models, Angel from New Jersey who recently visited Trinidad and Tobago and Jamaican model Jody-Ann, our cover model from Issue 1. We end Issue 2 with a taste of Barbados and style by the AfroFunkk brand, giving you a peak to what Issue 3 will be about...

Q&A Howlonghaveyoubeendrawing? For as long as I can remember I?ve had a thing for drawing, from around age 7, then I got into fashion drawings, j ust for the fun of it. Whydoyouloveillustrations? For me, illustrating started as a fascination. A fascination with paintings of the human form, a fascination with the fashion world, a fascination with people (and their personal style), and illustrations served to merge all these fascinations. What areyour qualifications/art background? During my secondary school days, I was a well-qualified during-class sketcher who subsequently failed art at the C.X.C level. Now I?m currently in my final semester of a Diploma in Fashion Design program at UTT

Whichdesigner isyour biggest inspiration? I draw inspiration from a great spans of designers and labels, but if I must choose one it would have to be Cristรณbal Balenciaga Areyour illustrations original fashiondesignsor inspired? If original doyouplantodesignoneday? Some of my illustrations are inspired by certain individuals and their personal style but a larger fraction of my illustrations are original designs. I never say no to a good opportunity, so designing collections may very well be in my future.

ARITA EDMUND 'I want to create music that touches every heart and soul' Arita believes the unique traits of the Caribbean is an asset to artists reigning from the islands, the Caribbean style vibe, unique music, languages and aesthetics. Arita is currently developing new music based on her Caribbean/Tobago experience. She says she is determined to make music for the international audience while showcasing the awesome sound of the Caribbean. Arita is very grateful for everyone who has helped shaped her thinking and approach to life. One of her role models is her manager Founder, Chairman & CEO of TEMPO Networks, Mr. Frederick A. Morton Jr., Esq. (?Mr. TEMPO?), who plays an instrumental role in her j ourney. She is happy to be a part of the TEMPO movement and family to unite the Caribbean. Some of her musical influencers are: Etta James who is her favorite of all times as well as Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Marvin Gaye, Bob Marley etc. She is also also influenced by the younger talents of Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Beyonce.

When asked what is her most memorable experience, Arita shared, ?Imust say that being signed to TEMPO Records, a subsidiary of TEMPO Networks, the Caribbean?s premier media Company, was definitely a transformative moment for me. Since then, I have released five awesome singles, an album is on the way, numerous live performances are lined-up and the sky truly seems like it?s not the limit, I truly have so much to be grateful for in being signed to such an amazing label with Executives that understand me as a Caribbean woman. Indeed, recently, I was also privileged to perform at a BET Networks event called ?Leading Women Defined?, where I met movers and shakers in the industry and the CEO of BET, Ms. Debra Lee ? that too was a very, very exciting and a truly proud achievement and memorable moment.

Jody Ann Daley 18year old Jamaican Model Photographed by Tameika Fletcher-Birmingham Modeling is my art. I model because it sets me free. Anywhere l go I feel a connection with the camera, and also my expressions flow as if it were in the great blue sea. Whenever I model I feel the need to tell a story in every strong point ,in every turn and in every smile. It's a beautiful thing to j ust stand and pose but it's extraordinary when someone can look at the picture that was created and tell you exactly what's going on without the need to ask. My inspiration comes from the great Naomi Campbell and j ust like her, my goals are to be on every cover of every magazine in every country. I believe that publications and magazines like Adornamicaribbean help aspiring models like myself by giving them the exposure they need in order to officially enter the modeling field.

Tobago Bag Gillian Fraser, Entrepreneur and Architect tells us about her brand The women in our family always referred to our bags that we would use on our trips to the ?little sister isle? Tobago as our Tobago Bags. Inevitably, these bags would come whenever we travelled and were put to various uses. We decided to create the ideal bag that was durable, tested to comfortably carry 55lbs and affordable. Concept work started in 2011, but the brand was officially launched in 2014. I was preparing for my wedding in Tobago and began thinking about what a perfect souvenir it could be for our guests. We designed the bag in two colour options. The Tricolour is a tribute to our nation. I felt it was important that a Tobago Bag was created fully representing our twin island republic. The Buccoo really represents the Tobago spirit -sunny, fun-loving, stylish, with its bright yellow colours.

TheTobagoBagistheprefect weekender. You?ll likethestyle, but alsoit issucha useful bag, becauseof itssize, comfort, and sturdiness.

We do have plans for more versions and are very excited for you to see them. I hope to see people using the bags at the airport, on the beach, for long weekend trip or simply to the marketplace/ grocery. We get excited seeing Tobago Bag anywhere! We really do- it was designed to be a stylish carry-all. We already have clientèle from islands like Taiwan, even from the Gulf Islands. That made us happy. Tobago to the world!

New Fire Fes tival The two day event was held back in April 2017 and is still one of our most favourite events for the year in Trinidad and Tobago. The event was held in the picturesque Green Meadows. The highlight for us was the outdoor concert featuring Nailah Blackman, Orange Sky, Freetown Collective and other talented local artists and bands. The festival was truly about love, sustainability, friendship, art, freedom and expression of style. Here are a few captures from the night.

Bamboo Cathedral, Chaguaramas

A Stylis t Road Trip In May 2017 we went on a road trip with stylist, Crystal Ivy London , Our day started with local breakfast at the Breakfast shed and a stroll on the Port of Spain Waterfront. While on our way, we heard that The Moving Table was hosting an event at UPick Vegetable Farm (a must visit spot for the family to enj oy farming). We made contact and they graciously accommodated our pop up visit. The Moving Table is a collaboration between D Market Movers and Chef Sonia held at different outdoor location across Trinidad. We adored the location The ambiance between the lush bamboo canopy created a rustic and intimate scenery for the open air farm house style dinning. We tasted the sips and enj oyed bites from the chefs' fine menu made with locally produced food.. After enj oying the experience, we couldn't resist capturing stylish Crystal (yes she did a wardrobe change) on location before making our way to the Bamboo Cathedral. The serene Bamboo Cathedral attracts fitness fanatics, tourists, photographers and apparently monkey watchers. We stopped and watched the monkeys j umping from branch to branch while capturing the moment. It was a beautiful place to end our evening. If you are interested in attending one of our stylish adventures, be sure to write us at info@adornamicaribbean.com, we would love to hear from you.
