EVALAM TEMPER-BEND p Edificio Infinity en BELGRADO por Miodrag Mirkovic Infinity building at BELGRADO by Miodrag Mirkovic

EVALAM TB (EVALAM TEMPER-BEND) is a product with an excellent optical and a UV filtering unmatched in the market. Recommended for extreme environments or curved facades and temperated with fastening systems, where the importance to flexion is critical to avoid potential delaminations due to stress and flexion that will suffer the glass during its life cycle by agents such as wind, snow or sun.

Since 1911 No limits in glass creation / 5

EVALAM MASSIVE EVALAM MASSIVE.

externos no sean excesivamente agresivos. EVALAM MASSIVE. Each product requires a quality and a price according to application or placement needs.. It’s not the same when you work inside a comercial center, in a facade, in a north or south facade, in an exterior rail or an inside transparent staircase. So Evalam Massive has been developed as an EVA of excellent optical properties and we recommend it for indoor and outdoor environments where price and transparency are determinant factors when external agents are not overly aggressive.

Since 1911 No limits in glass creation / 7

EVALAM 80-120 is an EVA recommended for performing inserts for indoor and outdoor. Its high percentage of UV filter also allows to extend the EVA’s life cycle and increase durability of the insertion placed in to a radiation test for 2000hrs.The main advantage that has EVALAM 80-120 is the ability to work both at 80°C as at 135°C, not all the insertions are able of supporting an increase in temperature above 100°C. For example, it is easy to talk about the gasification suffered by some paints, changing tone of some papers or waves the pet gets low micronage to reach that temperature. Thanks to its high fluidity allow the realization of numerous and complex insertions that can not be made with other EVA’s with greater rigidity and only high temperature.

Since 1911 No limits in glass creation / 9

EVALAM COLOR

Evalam Color was been developed to temperatures of 120 ° C without loss of pitch at the ends that provides greater color strength during the time compared with EVA’s of color from 80 ° C that priorizes the uniformity of tone against the durability of the material. Thanks to With to EVALAM color and Pujol’s ovens both objectives are achieved: Durability and color uniformity.

Better Optical A better optical on the EVA is determined by what we call Haze. Although the transparency parameter is important, almost all EVA market obtained acceptable parameters for the human eye. But when we talk about Haze the difference between them is overwhelming. Is undoubtedly the parameter to take into account when assessing a good optical, which only appears when sunlight influence into our laminated product. As shown in table, EVALAM TEMPER-BEND is a product with a haze currently unmatched by any other market EVA. The difference is vast, 33% lower compared to our current competitor, and offers an edge like the hue of the glass that you are working with, since it is transparent tone

GREATER UV FILTERING INCREASE THE LIFE CYCLE The UV filter determines in the EVA a less aggression towards bodies that are behind the laminated glass and especially increase the life cycle of our laminated glass. This fact is verified by a radiation and aging test (See Figure-) which shows that our Yellow change is only 2, elapsed 3000 hrs of UV radiation, a test of high temperature 85°C, high humidity 85%, test of 400 cycles high temperature 85°C and low temperature (-40°C).

Only EVALAM and another brand in EVA’s market are currently able to reach 99.3% of the UV filter to a wave of 370. Our new product EVALAM TEMPER-BEND has been developed to increase its UV absorption at a 390UV wavelength, increasing its filtering and therefore their durability against solar agents over other EVA’s market. Of course protecting sunlight all bodies that are behind our laminated glass.

MAYOR RESISTENCIA AL IMPACTO y A LA FLEXIÓN. HIGHER IMPACT RESISTANCE AND FLEXURAL STRENGTH The combination of greater hardness of EVA after being laminated and greater adherence to the laminated glass is what we will provide greater impact resistance and flexural strength. The high value of adhesion that has EVALAM TEMPER-BEND EVALAM compared with other EVA’s let you get great results in the test of the cutting table along with the UV filter. It will give us greater security against delamination and aging against possible external agents.

GREATER RESISTANCE TO OPEN EDGE The EVA is generally stronger than PVB against moisture, when laminated glass is exposed to open edge but we still must determine in what extent it affects every EVA or laminated glass. EVALAM TEMPER-BEND has been exposed to a test temperature 85°C and humidity 85% RH - 1000 Hrs with satisfactory results and not observing any other phenomenon of delamination, yellowing or bubbles.

GREATER COHESION OF THE GLASS TO A BREAK. After exposing the specimen to conditions of 23 °C and 50% RH for 40hrs and break them without separating fragments of different specimens are immersed in a thermostatic tank holding the samples at 100 °C for two hours. As a result comparing products and PVB EVALAM shows that EVALAM has greater cohesion to the glass after a break against the PVB.

2. EVALAM 80/120 PERFORMANCE 2.1. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION High quality EVA-based Film (Ethylene Vinyl Acetate) developed for the laminated glass industry, with perfect transparency, excellent durability and performance at low and high temperature: 80 º C for inserts and 120 º C for high transparency. Suitable for exterior and interior architectural and designer glass. In a world of innovation, development and creativity, certain materials such as wood, fabrics, paints, paper, PET, and many others, are undergoing change and deformation at high temperatures, so the EVALAM 80-120 allows working at low temperatures such so that the laminated glass inserts did not suffer any alteration. The high temperature in turn, gives us greater assurance of adherence if necessary thus avoiding the cost of current stock on the need for two types of EVA for two different jobs. The EVALAM 80-120, and has met the standards required by the new law of laminated glass for construction, required by the EEC for the placement of exterior glazing, Competitive price for a good quality product with constant stock without breaks. 2.2.

EVALAM COLOR

The EVALAM COLOR unlike transparent EVALAM has been developed for temperatures of 120 º C providing greater resistance of colour through time. Most EVA colours at the market when reached at high temperature over 100 ° C tend to have lost in the shade extremes. This is easily ascertainable with colours like red where the tone difference between the centre and extremes are evident when examining keeps the high temperature minimum of 30 minutes to acquire resistance adequate. To avoid the loss of shade almost all manufacturers have chosen to work with them at temperatures of 80 ° C giving priority to uniformity of colour compared to the duration of the tone over time. With EVALAM COLOR and Pujol laminating furnaces both goals: durability and colour uniformity, are easily achieved.

PRODUCTION OF ARCHITECTURAL LAMINATED SAFETY GLASS

5.1.

GLASS WASHING RECOMMENDATIONS

 When detergents are used in the first washing step to clean particularly dirty glass, it is essential that completely demineralised water is used for the final rinse before the glass is then dried in a powerful stream of filtered hot air.  The air-blowing nozzle should be slanted so that any remaining drops on the back edge of the pane are concentrated in one corner so they can be easily removed.  It is advisable that all traces of bending release agent should be carefully removed before the EVALAM film is applied. Most bending release agents remaining on the glass surface would invariably impair the optical quality of the windscreens and also adversely influence the adhesion of the film on the glass. CONTAMINATION OF THE GLASS SURFACE CAN BE CAUSED BY • • • • •

WASHING / RINSING RESIDUES BENDING RELEASE AGENTS (EG. BICARBONATE OR OTHERS) GLASS CORROSION RESIDUES CUTTING OILS / GREASE DETERGENTS RESIDUES

 The bending release agent can be removed with water in an automatic washing machine or manually.  To produce flat laminated safety glass, the cleaned and dried glass sheets can be used directly after the washing process. However before the film is applied the glass sheets must have cooled down to 25-30ºC otherwise the Eva Film will stick excessively to the hot glass surface.  Recommendation of use EVALAM NEUTRALIZER always that i-Glass washing is not do it with demineralized washing machine system.

 Use of flloat Glass with long storage time that may contain basic elements on surface as Na++ or Ca++.  Evalam is going to be used at 80ªC. HORNOS INDUSTRIALES PUJOL S.A. www.evalam.com

6.

ACOUSTIC GLAZING

6.1. EVALAM SOUND INSULATION Noise is defined as any type of sound that is considered disturbing, annoying or painful. Ambient noise consists of a multitude of sounds of different frequencies and intensities. In the last two decades the traffic density on the roads, in the air and on rails has almost doubled in the industrialized nations. At the same time, the noise nuisance for the population has increased sharply as a result of two decisive factors: -

Greater settlement density Associated development and use of building land

This means that the required noise control in buildings in noise-affected zones such as the landing paths of airports, areas close to motorways and railway tracks has grown considerably. It is a proven fact that noise causes illness. People who are constantly exposed to unwanted, continuous noise nuisance suffer from such consequences as stress, nervousness, sleeplessness, poor concentration and cardiovascular ailments. To keep the effects of such problems within acceptable bounds, planners and architects are increasingly required to incorporate noise control in building design. It is particularly important in this connection that the glazed surfaces of buildings in zones burdened by noise are correctly designed. Much like solar control, thermal insulation and security glazing, the most effective way of minimizing the effects of noise entering a building from outside is by insulating the window. The glass surface itself as well as the glass frames and the window’s installation position in the façade are crucial for effective sound insulation The technology of Evalam allows that the sound insulation performance of the film is improved while maintaining its Basic performance. Human most audible sound range is from 1000 to 4000Hz. Our film achieves 5dB of sound control effect which is higher than those achieved by other Eva Films.

ZEBRA LINES AND WHITE CLOUDS RUNNING THROUGH THE SAME DIRECTION OF THE AIR

EDGE BUBBLES

CAUSE - Insufficient adhesion.

BEND GLASS

DROPS IN THE EDGES

DROPS AROUND THE INSERTION

- Increasing of the fusing time of EVALAM - Check pre-laminate conditions / temperature curves

- A blockage in the convection air flow. - Excess temperature in the cycle. - An insertion that absorbs excess heat

- Verify that there is no glass positioned or an obstacle that doesn’t allow the correct airflow. - Lower 2 degrees the temperature cycle - Verify that the Furnace lamas have not moved or have closed causing inequalities chamber temperature - Use the guide to know exactly cane glass temperature

- Excess of temperature during fusing - Inserted objects too thick - Less time of “desaireado”

If a step curve is used: - Increase the stopping time - Reducing of the temperature If a Lineal curve direct to the fusion point is used: - Increase the time of the segment up to achieve the fusion point.

- Excess of pressure in the edges of the glass.

- Reduce the time in the fusion segment depending on the thickness of the glass and the number of layers. - Put small pieces of wood if a vacuum bag is used.

- Excess of pressure in the edge. - It use to happen in the vacuum bags when an insertion is being laminated.

- Reduce the time in the fusion segment depending on the thickness of the glass and the number of layers.

BUBBLES IN THE MIDDLE OF THE PIECE

LINEAL BUBBLES IN THE COMPLETE PIECE

SOLUTION

Put small pieces of wood if a vacuum bag is used. - Lack of support in large parts. usually - Increase of the number of supports on the vertical system - Large empty spaces caused by excessive expansion. appear at the ends of the rolled piece

- Shorten the process - Stop using the pump segment in the segment fusion - Remove tape - Reduce the number of layers that are being used

- Bags of air that round the insertion itself, caused by the lack of EVA - Excess of vacuum time

- Shorten the process - Stop using the pump segment in the segment fusion - Increase the number of layers of EVA

8. RECOMMENDATIONS OF USE 7.1 Handling & Storage: The thicknesses of 0.5mm and 1mm supplied in rolls of Long. 30 m. While the thicknesses of 4 mm. Supplied in sheet measures 4 x 2 m. AB-AR is supplied with a protective film on both sides to prevent any scratches or damage. For application and placement, we recommend removing the film right at the time of collocation in composition between EVALAM and glasses. The reason is the high degree of static electricity presented by these films, so to prevent the attraction of dust and the impossibility of cleaning, you must remove the protective film just at the time of placement. It is also recommended placing barriers in anti static workbenches, both to prevent dust, such as electrostatic discharge nuisance to the workers who are performing the installation. AB-AR 0.5mm & 1mm can be placed directly from the roll on the composition, and make the cut with the cutting Edge of EVA. -AR AB 4mm is recommended as a cut glass prior to placing BOUT composition. (Using a circular saw is most convenient) 7.2 Vacuum Lamination Process: The AB-AR film for vacuum bag processing necessarily requires the reduction of excess pressure in the glass perimeter to prevent sink marks. To do this, prepare a framework of wood or any solid material enough to resist the pressure of the vacuum bag, and must collocation around the perimeter of the piece. Failure to observe this procedure significantly increases the risk of defects in the piece.
