APRIL - DIXIELAND JAZZ MASTERS

A lot of folks love Dixieland Jazz and we sure do too! This music has its roots in New Orleans, and comes from many American sources. It left New Orleans during the First World War, and the “Jazz Age” swept the world during the Roaring Twenties. This kind of jazz continued to be very popular during the Depression but faded away somewhat as the “Big Bands” of the 1940’s came along. Modern jazz, rock and roll, and punk followed – but the early jazz survives, and still pleases today’s audiences. There’s nothing happier than a toe-tapping Dixieland tune.
