Dinosaurs are displayed throughout the campus and are complemented by the Natural History Museum and Weidner Wildlife Collection. At Western, learning is not limited to the classroom. In fact, academic opportunities seem to crop up everywhere–on stage, in laboratories and in athletic competition. Students get involved in “Hands-On learning activities during the freshman and sophomore years that help them decide on a major. Education majors work in local schools during their first year. Social science majors can serve as interns; exercise science majors get the opportunity to work as personal trainers; students interested in archaeology and geology can participate in field studies in Wyoming, Colorado and around the world.
