Chapultepec Community Centre Chapultepec Park Mexico City, MX Autumn 2004 Professors: Liliana Aguirre FermĂn Andrade Ana BarbarĂĄ Oscar Toca
The first challenge to produce a spatial programme. The task was to design a Community Centre in the area of one of the lakes of the urban park of Chapultepec. Part of the comission was to respect the racing track around the shore of the lake and to develop a space to generate community. Being in a strong and particular context gave the idea of emulating it’s essence. An artificial forest gradually appears and creates an open forum while the racing track elevates itself to create the background. Reflections, sounds and nature are the intented game to be played and lived.
