This guide will help you prepare for your journey. Inside you will find over 900 events in 300 venues all over the city. To help you discover the myriad of Fringe venues bursting with their own unique surprises, free Tour of the Unexpected buses will circumnavigate the city each evening. I also encourage you to seek out the many venues and art galleries throughout the fringes of the city and regional towns of South Australia. Also new in 2012, the Fringe Parade will move to the centre of the city, running down King William Street Featuring a cavalcade of caravans, trucks, animals, buses and floats, the Parade will be a spectacular convoy. On board will be thousands of Ftinge artists doing what Fringe artists do best: showing off.

An international arts event such as Adelaide Ftinge that literally takes over the city is only made possible through the talent and passion of the thousands of local, national and international artists, performers, venue managers and producers involved. We welcome and thank you all. Bringing so many individuals and organisations together is made possible through the hard work and dedication of the Fringe team - the Board and the staff led by the wonderful Greg Clarke. Special thanks to our Principal Partner BankSA - a highly successful partnership, wi h 2012 being the seventh year we've worked together on initia ives that benefit both Ftinge artists and audiences. Thank you to the Government of SA through ArtsSA and the South Australian Tourism Commission for their invaluable support. I would also like to thank Adelaide City Council for their generous contribution and welcome our three new major partners Minter Ellison Lawyers, PwC and Coopers Brewery alongside all our other valued partners. This year's program is jam-packed full of surprises that will astound and excite. So get looking, start booking and enjoy everything the Fringe has to offer - try the unexpected! Judy Potter Chair, Adelaide Fringe
Something very special happens in Adelaide during February and March when thousands of artists descend upon the city for Adelaide Fringe Our public spaces, buildings and theatres are filled with new experiences as they turn into special Fringe venues hosting enticing and edgy arts events throughout the city. Fringe time is for everyone - young or old - and we can all appreciate and enjoy the work of the huge range of artists who entertain and stimulate, challenge and provoke, and sometimes even baffle us. This is what the Fringe is all about It tempts us to get involved, be bold with our choices and enrich ourselves with something new; knowing that whatever happens it will be memorable. John Hill Minister for the Arts

Adelaide Fringe acknowledges and respects the traditional custodians, the Kaurna people, whose ancestral lands we meet on during the festival. We respect the Kaurna people's ongoing spiritual and cultu ral connection to country and acknowledge that their beliefs remain as important today to the living Kaurna people.
The Ftinge brings its own special type of magic to Adelaide and BankSA is backing this magnificent three weeks of creativity and cutting-edge artistic endeavour with extra gusto this year We've been the Principal Partner since 2006 and we love being part of an event that overflows with optimism and energy, and delivers a feel-good spirit across the State. BankSA's Support Act program is back this year and it's one of the very best ways to support the artists themselves, who are of course the lifeblood of the Fringe. Through Support Act we subsidise the cost of tickets for more than 100 different shows and keep the price at a low $10 each for eager arts lovers. Our hugely successful talkfringe com website is diving deeper into the digital age and introducing some innovative social media elements. One of these is a talkfringe.com daily deals offer for members enabling the budget-conscious to take advantage of a range of fantastic offers across the Fringe. I'm very much looking forward to Adelaide Fringe 2012 and its extraordinary collection of vibrant, thought-provoking and exhilarating shows. Jane Kittel Managing Director, BankSA
