John proudly explains, “… if someday the Balinese want to turn this factory back into rice fields, they could do it in about a week. There’s no concrete here.”
ANCIENT TRADITION Starting with master WITH A MODERN TWIST artisans whose ancestors were goldsmiths to Balinese kings, John Hardy’s early collections grew out of four traditional Balinese jewelry making techniques; rantia (woven chain); tenun (woven mesh) jawan (granulation); and ukiran (cut work).
