Good News Stories
Thank you to our members
We recently put a call-out to members who could help cover appointments for a gravely ill dentist in the Northern Suburbs. We were truly humbled by the overwhelming response to our request – and were inundated with phone calls, emails and messages. A locum was found to cover the appointments, and the dentist’s family were extremely grateful. It once again shows us what a wonderful, supportive and truly caring dental community we have in WA.
LensNation Studio helping to share the work of Dental Rescue Days
A huge thank you to Bobby Sandhu from LensNation Studio. He kindly filmed and produced a video of a Dental Rescue Day (pro bono) at Rockingham Dental a couple of years ago. When the ADHF recently asked if he could make some edits to the video for them to use nationally, he obliged, once again not charging for his services as part of his regular pro bono work. Thank you, Bobby, for helping us spread the word of the wonderful work our dentists are doing!
Dental4Windows for Healing Smiles
Thank you to Centaur, who has provided complimentary access to Dental4Windows for Healing Smiles. “A central patient management system for Healing Smiles has been essential for our ability to work as a team, and co-ordinate care for our group of patients,” says Dr Jacinta Vu, Clinical Coordinator of Healing Smiles. “We are very thankful to Centaur for their sponsorship of Healing Smiles, providing access to their platform, as well as training.” Soup fundraiser
It was great to see so many people at ADA House buying soup and raising money to support Head and Neck Cancer Australia. Soup was also sold in the OHCWA courtyard. Well done to the UDSS for once again arranging such a great fundraiser. More than $1,000 was raised, which is more than double previous years’ fundraisers.
Support service
A reminder that support is available for dental practitioners via Dental Practitioner Support, a national 24/7 health and wellbeing support service. The service offers health and wellbeing support to all dental practitioners, including dentists, dental prosthetists, oral health therapists, dental hygienists and dental therapists. It is also available to dental students, educators, employers, Australian Dental Council exam candidates and concerned family members and friends. The site also features useful tips and wellbeing articles. Phone 1800 377 700 or go to dpsupport.org.au
The Difference
We were proud to see Dr Zara Torre on Channel 10, in her role as the founder and CEO of The Difference. She spoke about the mobile app that's helping to make change in the world, one transaction at a time, as well as a new sustainable clothing line.

Art at ADA House
It was lovely to see a group of dentists at the Paint & Sip class at ADA House. Special mention to Smita and Rouvin, who were celebrating their 12th wedding anniversary. Rouvin is a dentist in the Pilbara, and as the group was painting a scene called ‘The Pilbara Twilight’, they thought it was very fitting! Thanks to Credabl, who partially sponsored the evening. If you are interested in coming along to an ADAWA Social Club event, keep an eye on your emails and the ADAWA Members’ Facebook Group for future event details, and email AmandaP@adawa.com.au with any ideas or suggestions.
