PRECEDENT ANALYSIS DE ROTTERDAM BY OMA | ROTTERDAM NETHERLANDS | 2003 - CONCIEVED AS A VERTICAL CITY - IN 2013 THE FAÇADE WAS USED TO BECOME THE SCREEN FOR THE LARGEST VIDEO _MAPPING PROJECT DISPLAYED IN EUROPE - ATTRACTION MADE FOR THE BUSY NETHERLANDS HIGHWAY

MY PROJECT AIMS TO ATTRACT THE PEOPLE OF CLINTON SQUARE, LOCATED DIRECTLY ACROSS FROM THE SITE. THE SCREEN CAN BE USED TO SHOWCASE MOVIES, ART, PRESENTATIONS, ETC. THIS ENABLES CURIOSITY, AND WARRANTS PEOPLE TO FIND OUT MORE ABOUT THE MAKERSPACE BELOW, OR EXPLORE THE GALLERIES BY ITS SIDE.

THE CLINTON EXCHANGE

41 COOPER SQUARE BY MORPHOSIS ARCHITECTS | NEW YORK NY | 2006 - HIGH PERFORMANCE EXTERIOR DOUBLE SKIN - PERFORATED STAINLESS STEEL - OFFSET FROM GLASS AND ALUMINUM WINDOW WALL - ALLOWS TRANSPARENCIES TO REVEAL THE WORK WITHIN - ENABLES A CONTROLED ENVIRONMENT OF LIGHT ON THE INSIDE

FOR THE COOPER UNION BUILDING, THE ENVELOPE REVEALS THE ABSTRACT ATRIUM. IN THIS PROJECT, THE PERORATED STAINLESS STEEL COVERS ONLY THE PRIVATE OFFICES. HOWEVER, THE TRANSPARENCY ENABLES A VIEW OUTWARDS TO THE MONUMENTAL CLINTON SQUARE AND ITS EVENTS.

CASA MALAPARTE BY ADALBERTO LIBERA | ISLE OF CAPRI ITALY | 1938 - MODERN ITALIAN ARCHITECTURE - BUILT WITH LOCAL STONE EXTRACTED FROM THE SITE - AS IF TTHE HOUSE HAS EMERGED FROM THE LANDSCAPE - CREATES NEW HEIGHT

THE STEPS LEADING UP TO THE MAIN ENTRANCE SERVE AS AN EXTENTION OF CLINTON SQUARE. IT IS OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AND IS MEANT TO GUIDE PEOPLE UPWARD INTO THE BUILDING, STARTING WITH A PATH PEOPLE CAN FOLLOW FROM CLINTON SQUARE, THORUGH THE GALLERIES, AND ENDING WITH THE AUDITORIUM TO VIEW SHOWS AND PRESENTATIONS.
