how a slogan reaches out to different people and what makes a great slogan that sells well

in the present day. So first, what are slogans about? They are a way to get a message out

which can be used for advertising posters, social media and for political Campaigns, com-

monly seen during elections. The idea of political slogan is to have a good message of

what it is about what it stands for, but what is most important is keep repeating it to get the

message across. The design of slogans also are important to make it more outstanding in

the present day, for example, US campaigns rely on advertising as the candidates slogan

gets advertised on all platforms.

Why I think they do this is because it is easy for people to see a slogan message with a

stylish design and understand what they are saying. For instance, take the campaign slo-

gan “Make America Great Again” which president of the United States Donald Trump used

in his 2016 election campaign. Why did it work so well in the campaign and what did the

slogan have to offer. This three part slogan worked well for Trump and it worked so well it

helped him win the election. My view on how his political slogan worked very well for his

campaign is I think it is down to getting the right idea out there for the voter to see and

knowing your audience.

Slogans should be aimed at a specific target, which can either be a general one for all the

population or a collective group of people who will link to the subject when requiring help

to choose something they need. The best slogans are easy to remember and stimulates

the reader or listener when they are making a choice. Big bold slogans are stimulating, but

21376965 those that give off a softer tone can also create a powerful message in perspective if just

one word or a phrase would be used. Trump’s “Make America Great Again”- slogan was

also abbreviated to MAGA which made it easier to remember. People often refer to a ‘

catchy slogan’ , which often refers to those slogans that are the easiest to remember. In

essence what makes a slogan powerful is used to express a characteristic which creates

nostalgia or fear. Why I say fear is because that if you are following one slogan message,

what makes it powerful and why creates fear in todays world is if that one message of a

campaign slogan makes it better than the opposition. The fact is that if you have a group of

people hearing this slogan and the message that it is telling you have to ask does it make

them feel something? It is also how the campaign is saying the slogan to their followers

which if one person hears what it stands for, they will go to next person and the next be-

fore they are seeing it online on social media platforms therefore it is way for them to show

their support in person and spread the word.
