On Saturday, April 22, A Chance In Life once again celebrated its Annual San Francisco Ball of the Year. Nearly 300 guests arrived under the floral-draped ceiling of the Westin St. Francis on Union Square to honor longtime friend and generous benefactor Richard W. "Dick" Ghilotti.

Joining Dick on the stage during the evening's presentations were San Francisco Committee Chair and A Chance In Life Board Member Larry Nibbi, who - with brother Sergio - kicked off the Fund-A-Need with a generous inroom gift of $10,000 in support of A Chance In Life's programs.

Guests were also treated to remarks from Boys' and Girls' Town of Ethiopia Alumna Betelheme Merka, who spoke of her journey - physical and emotional - from a tiny village in rural Ethiopia, where A Chance In Life supported her as she pursued her high school degree - to a Masters Program in Statistics at the University of Calabria, Italy.

We are so grateful to the longstanding generosity of our friends in San Francisco - with your support, we raised more than $400,000 for the children and families in our programs.
