Our Partners in Ethiopia

TThis is our sixth year of partnership in the country, A Chance In Life continues to work with local organizations in the rural community of Emdibir and the city of Addis Ababa to provide to the most vulnerable children and youth with a chance in life

Our Partner organization in Emdibir, the Catholic Eparchy of Emdibir, provides with access to education to high school girls by offering them housing close to the local high school, provision of leadership development training and supporting the girls on their journeys to university or trade schools.

Our Partner organization in Addis Ababa, Friendship for International Development Association (FIDA), provides care and educational opportunities to orphaned and vulnerable children through financial support for school supplies, school fees, nutritious meals, safe housing and health care.

In the past year, our Partners in Ethiopia have continued offering uninterrupted services and children and youth have been attending in-person lessons. To ensure social distancing while at school, children have attended schools in shifts. A Chance In Life has provided our Partners with funds to distribute food relief to the families facing food insecurity due to COVID-19 lockdowns We have financed the implementation of computer labs, a library at the hostel where the high school girls live, and we have granted funds to build more classrooms to host more children in the elementary school of Emdibir.
