Our thanks and our love goes to all our partners who agreed to join us on this digital adventure. ABSOLUTE ESCAPE is totally independent of any publishing group and any economic group, which makes the project different and above all innovative. It all began with a passion for a place discovered by chance (Chão do Rio) by a passionate couple that today is a family. Coming from urban lives, but in love with nature and with rurality living in the childhood memory, was in Chão do Rio, at Travancinha, in 2001, that the couple found a place that makes them feel complete, where smiles come from inside and happiness happens in the simple things of life, like planting a tree. There they created the roots that they didn’t have and there they dream of coming to live one day!

CHÃO DO RIO In the Farm The best of country life are the simple things, those that we call simple pleasures and that stay attached to our childhood memories for ever. When we rediscover some of those things, we are taken to other times, times in where we used to live slowly. These experiences take place in the 19 acres of Chão do Rio. About half of the property, the southern part, is a forest area, crossed by a signposted trail, which was named the " Moira” (fairy) trail, where guests can get in touch with the magic of nature and: The charming stone houses The bicycles The wheelbarrows The playground The picnic area The biological pool The movable chicken coop The sheep fold The wooden oven The vegetable garden An outdoor fireplace And nature

HOUSES | LOBA In this cottage, the colours and the decor suggest the mystery of the night, when the wolf assaults the shepherd’s dreams. But this suggestion just translates into pleasant summer sunsets under the porch or a cosy winter atmosphere where the ambience inspires storytelling by candlelight. Then, when the night comes, after climbing up the wooden stairs, you take a last glance to the moon before falling into a repairing and peaceful sleep.
HOUSES | CHURRA Churra is a breed of sheep... The environment chosen for Churra is of great comfort, there are natural materials and nature is suggested in each element. Churra invites to relaxation, to afternoon naps and meeting with the essence of things. HOUSE WITH ONE ROOM, ACCOMMODATES UP TO 4 GUESTS
HOUSES | COTOVIA The ambience is Provencal. Flowers and birds lurk in pillows and tissues and in kitchenette there are shelves with hanging lace. It gives us the urge to prepare cookies for the kids or have a picnic in the countryside. After a full day, when the night comes and after taking a bath, it is with joy and peace that the children go to sleep.. It is then that the lovers time arrives... they climb up the stairs holding hands, open the bedroom window and stare at the moon, the sweet fragrances of the night enter the room, outside the frogs sing... and their hearts overflow... HOUSES | RIBEIRA Ribeira cottage is youthful and fresh. In the ground floor room, behind a curtain, there is a bunk bed and upstairs, in the larger bedroom, there are two colourful and cheerful single beds. Here we feel like putting music on the stereo and dance, or just put on a bathing suit and take a dip in the biological pool, which is right in front of the house. The days will be full of life ... What about taking a bike ride? HOUSE WITH ONE ROOM, ACCOMMODATES UP TO 4 GUESTS
HOUSES | PASTOR The atmosphere is simple and rustic, as the quilts are from the looms of the mountains, the bedside tables are tree trunks and chairs are lined goatskin. When waking up early in Shepherd house and open the mansard’s window, one will probably see the mist rising over the waters of the lake, then take a deep breath and the energy to do a million things will appear first you take a comforting breakfast and then you just put on a hat and go out to the countryside that awaits. HOUSE WITH ONE ROOM, ACCOMMODATES UP TO 4 GUESTS HOUSES | CUMEADA Cumeada house, is located in a higher part of the property and a little apart from all other houses. In olden times it was a shelter for goats and today is converted into a 140 square feet comfortable cottage house with, two bedrooms, a kitchenette, integrated into a large lounge with fireplace, and a bathroom with a cast iron bathtub. A large porch invites you to enjoy outdoor dining or fully repairing naps in the hammock. The atmosphere is rusticromantic, welcoming the guests to the country spirit and inviting to relaxation. Facilities include TV, DVD player, stereo system and a book case full of books and movies. HOUSE WITH TWO ROOMS, ACCOMMODATES UP TO 6 GUESTS

HOUSES | URZE Urze (heather) is a small house with large spaces, designed for circulation of those with less mobility. Here comfort is touched on the cork floor under bare feet and seen in the soft colors that spread around. Nature enters the whole house, inviting us to take roots. HOUSES | FRAGA In Fraga (cliff), we smell nature on the woods of the region that made the furniture simple and comfortable, we see it in autumn colors and touch it on the cork floor . We climb the stairs and two rooms peek through the mansards the biological pool. The landscape seen from up there assumes us in a vertigo, as if we were on a cliff... up there, in the Serra da Estrela Mountain! HOUSE WITH TWO ROOMS, ACCOMMODATES UP TO 6 GUESTS
