Data driven results SOME OF THE KEY OBJECTIVES IN 2018 WERE: RAISE post freezing standards for both dairy and beef sires ADAPT ¼ cc straws for the preferred packaging method for most all of our dairy sires. This method has benefited our customers average performance:

0.5% INCREASE

IN DAIRY CONCEPTION RATES

2.6% INCREASE

IN BEEF SIRES USED ON DAIRIES

We attribute much of these increases to the SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT that 1/4 cc straws has had on post thaw semen quality.

SIZE MAKES A DIFFERENCE ASK ABOUT ¼ CC STRAWS FOR ENHANCED FERTILIT Y THE GLOBAL INDUSTRY STANDARD ¼ cc straws are the standard in the dairy industry and in the beef industry outside of the United States ¼ cc straws contain the same number of sperm cells post thaw as ½ cc straws ABS switched to all ¼ cc units for our dairy customers including beef semen used in dairies in 2017

IMPROVED POST FREEZE MOTILIT Y The surface to volume ratio of ¼ cc straws allows for better freezing and thawing which consistently improves post freeze motility

ENHANCED CONCEPTION RATES We have observed up to a 2.6% increase in average conception rates after switching our Beef InFocus Beef on Dairy product line from ½ cc to ¼ cc straws Includes only data on the same bulls, used in both package sizes in the same herds Includes over 180,000 observations split nearly evenly between each package size

ABS IS TRANSITIONING TO BENEFIT OUR CUSTOMERS The majority of ABS’ beef bulls will be produced and available in ¼ cc packaging starting in October 2019. Ask your local Representative about availability on your favorite bulls!
