MATLAB Based Graphical PCB Drilling Machine Drilling over any object is a tedious job there are so many complications come over while working on practical projects. Few problems are given below, -

so many times it does not pursue an accuracy.

Sometimes improper direction in drilling.

Improper human pressure becomes a reason to break down drill bits.

Wrong location drilling or location mismatch

-

Etc..

Instead to overcome these problems if we uses computer to draw a drilling circuit and intimate robot to follow that drilling circuit to drill a specific location then all above problems will be solved. We can use any mathematical language or instead MATLAB to design graphical interface and generate drilling signals to hardware via computer ports. Our hardware will follow given instructions and drill an exact location with no human efforts and becomes a painless job for all drilling experts too. This is a PC based device primarily used for drilling holes on a PCB for mounting various components. The PCB layout file for drilling, which is in the notepad is taken as inputs for final programming. The conversion and controlled program is will be written in MATLAB, which is sent to the Micro controller. The hardware is consist of two axial movements at 90 degree to each other to give the ‘X’ and ‘Y’ axis. The movements are driven by stepper motors or most possibly servo motors. The processing circuit consists of a micro controller, motor drivers, sensors & power supply. The micro controller provides input to the drivers to move the respective motor to its prior position the PCB at the right place. A third motor is used for the up & down movement of the drill, which is driven by a DC motor. The entire sequencing of the operations is controlled by the micro controller. The PC only provides the ‘X’ & ‘Y’ coordinates for the drill hole. The PC provides only on set of coordinates at a time. The micro controller then position the PCB to the correct location and drives drill down to make the hole. Once the hole is drilled & the drill moves up the micro controller send a message to the PC to release the next data and then the entire PCB is drilled.
