C. ERIC COLLIER: From Stuck To Unstoppable

C.Eric Collier, widely known as the “Mayor of Motivation,” has become a guiding light for individuals seeking to unleash their potential and achieve greatness. As a motivational speaker and host of The Momentum Shift Podcast and Radio Show, Collier’s journey highlights resilience, self-belief, and the transformative power of embracing change.

The Foundation Of Resilience

Born and raised in Danville, Illinois, Collier’s early life was marked by challenges that required adaptability and perseverance. Reflecting on his childhood, he recalls, “At the age of five, I learned to adapt and just keep moving forward.” After his parents’ divorce, his mother worked tirelessly to support her children, instilling in them a drive to succeed despite the odds. “My mom went from cleaning houses to leading the housing projects with the Housing Authority, all without a degree,” he says. “She was my first motivational coach and teacher.”

Growing up in a blended family brought its own set of challenges. “High school was a tough time,” Collier admits. “We had to find our place in a family dynamic where there wasn’t really a place for us. My brother and I relied on each other to grow and move forward.” Amidst these struggles, sports became an anchor. “Baseball was my way out,” he shares, highlighting how his passion for the game shaped his early ambitions.

After high school, Collier joined the military, embarking on a journey of personal growth and discovery. His time in the armed forces reinforced his belief in discipline and self-reliance, qualities that would later define his approach to motivational speaking and coaching.

The Mayor Of Motivation

Collier’s charismatic personality and ability to connect with others earned him the nickname “Mayor of Motivation.” Initially bestowed by coworkers who observed his natural ability to uplift those around him, the title stuck as he transitioned into mentoring and speaking. “I want to see people win,” Collier explains. “It’s about helping them become the best version of themselves and experience the things they never thought possible.”

As a certified DiSC Behavioral Assessment facilitator, Collier helps individuals identify their strengths, weaknesses, and communication styles. “Self-awareness is key,” he emphasizes. “When you know who you are, it leads to better connections and ultimately, a more fulfilling life.”

Turning Challenges Into Opportunities

Collier’s philosophy of momentum shifting is rooted in his own experiences of adversity. He describes a particularly challenging period when he was laid off for 352 days. “It was the toughest time for us,” he recalls. “I couldn’t control everything, but I focused on what I could control and kept pushing.” This mindset became his mantra: “Just keep pushing because nobody’s going to do it for you.”
