“Just think of Me, be my devotee, worship Me, offer obeisances unto Me, Certainly you will come to Me, I promise this in truth to you being dear to Me” “Anyone who met Kirit would never forget him – he was truly unforgettable. I met Kirit in school in Kampala at very early age we have been good friends ever since. Our friendship and time together was full of fun and laughter and of course Kirit’s language was always colourful. During the last few years our conversation moved away to world of finance and the politics of India. It was unique opportunity to experience Kirit’s vast knowledge and excellent grasp of various interesting topics. Kirit also had a great love of music and Indian song . The families of Dr T.B.Patel, B.K.patel and my family will always cherish our dinners. It was very painful to see him suffering in hospital but a privilege and honour to call him a friend. Kirit, may you rest in peace. ” B N Patel Lion Kirit Patel, Charter President of London Finchley Lions Club was highly regarded by all our members past & present, and he was a stalwart member, a driving force of numerous clubs,
functions and always at the forefront of all club occasions. H e was our club's Tamer for many years which entailed ensuring that meetings were properly conducted and members behaved in a dignified manner. His wise counsel kept us firmly on the straight and narrow, and his wit, his jokes and also his expletives kept us amused at most of our meetings! He was a hugely respected colleague, full of compassion, and always came back with sound advice, so much so that he wa s regarded as an elder statesman in Lionism. He was always there to share his experiences and share his friends and connections in furtherance of club activities. He lived his life to the full, made the best of every moment, wholeheartedly supported the club in all their activities and made himself useful to the club at all levels. His popularity was amply evidenced by the number of well wishers and frien ds at his funeral. We will all miss him immensely. Lion President Abdul Bux, Lions Club of London - Finchley
Dadu , as he was affectionately known, had a personality which transcended his dimunitive size. He was generous to a fault, and possessed an extraordinary virtue of being able to connect with people of all ages; whether a child or an octogenarian, and this in turn brought him enormous warmth and affection from all whose lives he touched. Whenever we came across a crossroad or a life changing event, he was the man you wanted by your side; to gently sift through the issues and separate the wheat from the chaff. Combined with his extensive life experience; his incisive wit and a nose to identify the nub of an issue, he guided us to pragmatic solutions, never lacking courage to support a principle of fairness and just cause, even though it may court unpopularity. He trumpeted our successes, and cushioned us through difficult times. The lives of my children and I, have been greatly diminished by his passing away, knowing that the void he has left will remain, forever. Son-in-law, Vijay Vasu
