A deep and sumptuous window seat invites you to curl up with a book in front of the wood-burner, and a balcony to the master bedroom is the perfect place to greet each day with a morning brew. Everything has been beautifully executed, and the main living area is the sort of space one would find hard to leave. As Peter remarks, “I always feel as if I am on holiday whenever I am here. It is a wonderful spot and, although I love the summer and the hustle and bustle of the harbour, I think I prefer the winter. There is something rather romantic about being tucked up cosily inside while the rain lashes against the windows.� The Boat House is deceptively spacious, sleeping up to ten people with a layout that works well for different guest

configurations. On the ground floor there is a stylish double bedroom with an ensuite bathroom and funky connecting bunk room that will delight anyone with young children. The open plan living area is the heart and soul of the place, allowing groups to come together over long lazy breakfasts, or to sprawl on the sofa and sink into the window seat after an indulgent Sunday roast. Upstairs, there are two more double bedrooms, another bunk room, and a family bathroom, all of which have enviable views of the Blyth and the comings and goings of life on the river, and I love the thought of sleeping with the balcony doors thrown back and being lulled to sleep by the clinking of the boat masts or awoken by the gentle chug of a fisherman heading out to sea.
