Final poster (A1) Final Model (scale 1:200)

As part of my Level 4 final project submission I completed a 1:200 model of the site including surrounding buildings & context in addition to my design of the studio apartment. I completed this using AutoCAD for the creation of the floor plans (as shown left) on poster and corral draw to prepare the plans

for lazer cutting. My desire was to create an experimental model that would best portray the function of the building as opposed to attributes of the design such as the exterior aesthetics or building materials. In order to execute this representation I chose transparent acrylic as the primary material because, this way each floor plan would be visible upon close inspection.

An A1 poster (shown left) was also to be completed for the submission. Here I chose to include a three dimensional render (produced on sketch-up) of the front of the structure with sections, elevations and floor plans from AutoCAD below. I chose each floor plan to be included in order for the scheme to be fully comprehended by viewers. Furthermore, a site plan was included in addition to images of the model of which more detailed examples are displayed on the following two pages.
