Two shopkeepers shoT dead in rawalpindi RAWALPINDI stAff rEPOrt
Two shopkeepers were killed in firing by armed men on Sunday and the assailants managed to escape from the scene. Police said that armed men opened indiscriminate fire at two persons in Transformer Chowk area, Sadiqabad police station jurisdiction in Rawalpindi killing them on the spot. The attackers managed to flee after committing the dual murder. Bodies of the deceased shopkeepers identified as Rehman Akbar and Naveed were shifted to Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Police said that the incident seems to be outcome of personal grudge, however, a case has been registered against the murderers and investigation was in progress.

A non-local person was found injured with a cut to the throat along the Chitral river bank. According to Chitral police, Kifayatullah son of Azab Khan of district Batagram was found unconscious on the bank of Chitral river whose neck (throat) was cut with some sharp knife or other thing. He had been staying in a local hotel and was sleeping in his room after offering his Fajar prayer. Kifayatullah said that he had some American dollars and two mobiles in his pockets but now there is nothing with him. He said that he could not understand that what happened to him as he found himself on the bank of Chitral river. However, police suspect that it was a robbery attempt. He was rushed to DHQ hospital Chitral where ENT specialist Dr. Farooq arranged his operation in emergency hence his condition is stated to be out of danger. Hotel manager Shakoor Murad confirmed that Kifayattullah was staying in their hotel for the last one week but he expressed his ignorance about the incident. He admitted that he has no security guard at the hotel despite provincial government notification regarding hiring of a security guard at each public place. Chitral police started investigation but it has not yet arrested any person.

The police recovered huge quantity of hashish during the search of a vehicle and arrested two culprits on Sunday. Police said that a suspected vehicle was stopped for search at Marri Check Post in Kohat. During the search of the vehicle the police recovered 200 kilogram of hashish worth hundreds of thousands of dollars hidden in secret chambers of the vehicle. Two drug pushers were arrested during the action. The police took the recovered hashish into possession and after registering a case against the nabbed drug peddlers started the investigation.

vER 150 children of Islamabad Sweet Home were rushed to different hospitals on Sunday morning after they suffered tummy troubles following breakfast. Soon after breakfast, the children complained about stomach-aches, diarrhoea and vomiting, which prompted the administration to rush them to Polyclinic, PIMS and Holy Family Hospital for medication. A spokesperson for the PIMS said most of the children being treated at the hospital were suffering from gastro and diarrhoea. While talking to media persons outside the PIMS, Pakistan Sweet Homes Patron-in chief Zamrud Khan said that the children were served milk and bread in the breakfast. He said that the children were shifted to hospitals after they complained about stomachaches and diarrhoea. Answering a question, Khan said that sample of the food served to the children would be handed over to health officials for a laboratory test.

Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has awarded 119 personnel who performed special duties during construction of Metro Bus Track and ensured convenience to road users by ensuring smooth flow of traffic. According to details, ITP made special deployment at important chowks and boulevards during the
construction of the Metro Bus Track and policemen remained present there more than their duty hours to ensure smooth flow of traffic. Several policemen were injured and became sick during performance of their duties but their commitment brought a good name for traffic police. 37 GAMBLERS ROUNDED UP WITH RS 332,000 CASH STAKE MONEY RAWALPINDI: Police have arrested 37 gamblers and recovered Rs 332,000 cash stake money, 33 mobile phones and other items from their possession. According to details, Race Course police acting on a tip-off conducted a raid in Dhoke Syedan area in its jurisdiction and held seven gamblers namely Zulfiqar, Nisar, Fahad, Khurram and others who were allegedly involved in betting while playing cards. Police recovered Rs 220,000 cash stake money, seven mobile phones and other items and registered a case against them. Waris Khan police raided in Dhoke Khabba area and netted 14 gamblers identified as Rais, Banaras, Rafique, Abbas, Rizwan, Riaz and others and recovered Rs 75,000 cash stake money and nine mobile phones. Meanwhile, Sadiqabad police nabbed eight gamblers namely Abdul Qayyum, Bilal, Qamar, Naeem, Fazal Amin and others from Aslam street area. Police also recovered Rs 31,500 cash stake money with eight mobile phones. RS 10M ALLOCATED FOR CONSTRUCTION OF GUJJAR KHAN POLICE STATION RAWALPINDI: The Punjab government has allocated Rs 10 million for the construction of Saddar Police Station in Gujjar Khan. In 2012, the City Police Officer Rawalpindi sent a proposal to the Inspector General Police and Home Department Punjab for giving approval to the construction of the police station. A senior police officer said that the police station will be constructed on a two-kanal land in the Qazian area. He said that the land had initially been donated by Javed Qazi, a resident of the area, for construction of a patrolling post. However, the patrolling post could not be constructed even after many years due to shortage of funds. ONLINE
