Letter from Pastor Doug

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I haven’t yet been able to get my brain around the fact that we are in the year 2020. But here we are. I do like the metaphor of “2020” as it relates to vision and being able to experience God and to see clearly just where God is leading us.

As you read through this edition of Unleashed Magazine, pay particular attention to the article on Generous Life 2020, which is the ongoing vision for where we believe God is calling Abiding Hope over the next couple of years. The Generous Life Vision was launched in 2015 to include four key components:

• Expand the missional effectiveness and reach of Abiding Hope

• Accompany struggling congregations toward redevelopment

• Build relationships with the Latino community of greater Denver

• Generate a national leadership network for congregational vitality

I invite you also to take notice of the articles highlighting the various ways that we are innovating ministries to align with our culture of authentic worship, intentional relationships, sacrificial service, and radical generosity. There are far too many things happening for me to mention here, and so I hope that you’ll take the time to read carefully through this edition of Unleashed Magazine.

We pray that this magazine will serve as inspiration for you and your family as you go deeper in your journey as a child of God. Please don’t just keep Unleashed Magazine to yourself.
