Lyon Street
Our Lyon Street residences have approximately 125 bedrooms, divided into one, two, or three bed flats. Spread across two buildings, these former private flats have been converted by Abertay - retaining the feel of a private rental but with the perks of university accommodation. Light, airy bedrooms have been made up as singles, twins or doubles, and all contain storage and study areas, with each flat having shared kitchen and shower room facilities. Lyon Street is the furthest residence from campus, but is still only ten minutes’ walk away and benefits from free, on-street public parking. Residents at Lyon Street have exclusive access to a large area of green space located behind one of the buildings. It is a perfect place to chill out with your flatmates. Lyon Street is quieter than our other residences, mainly due to flat sizes. However, those living there find a great community spirit, and there is always something going on.
Meadowside
Parker House
Purpose built for student accommodation, Meadowside has 69 bedrooms divided into six or nine-bedroom flats. Every bedroom is en-suite (with shower), and every flat has a large kitchen/living area.
The modern, purpose built building offers en-suite facilities (with shower) in every bedroom and is a fiveminute walk from campus.
Meadowside is the closest residence we have to campus. It is literally at the end of the road and is no more than two minutes away from class. It is also right in the centre of the city, meaning you’d be struggling to find a better location to base yourself.
Meadowside also has a ‘barrier free’ flat, specifically designed for students with specific physical needs. A secure bike shed is available for anyone keen on the two-wheeled method of transport.
Although Parker House is owned and managed by a private company, the University has a nomination agreement where a number of rooms are held specifically for Abertay students with the remaining rooms made available to students of all local universities and colleges.
