I have an amazing family and I am so lucky to be able to surround myself with people that make me smile every day and enrich my life. The girls around here always find me with my computer, music on and designing away, thats the best part of my day! Junior Editor

Editor-In-Chief

Charity Hall Hi, I’m Charity, a BLB Junior Editor. My passions include books, fashion, the latest chickflicks, and of course anything sparkly. I got into fashion first through the study of cultures- I love seeing how each has its own amazing spin on style. When I’m not out shopping, I’m checking out the newest trends and pieces online or in magazines (I have huge stacks, mostly Vogue- I’m a little addicted). I’m the DIY type, so I’m often trying out things I see on Pinterest or blogs and sharing how it goes. Tweet with me: @Charity_blb

Faythe Elouise I’m definitely a slave to fashion and I seem to wear many hats in life. Editor in Chief is just one of many of them! I put my mommy hat on and run around to play dates, karate, and swim team with my adorable (yes I’m bias) 2 and 3 year old boys. I change that hat and work my magic with makeup brushes and lip gloss as a professional makeup artist for the last 12 years. Now dating the love of my life and excited to get that BLING ring one day (see my Pinterest collection)! I have already planned my wedding at least 5 times on Pinterest! Yes, Pinterest ADDICT and red backs collector!!! The ultimate girlie girl I love all things sparkly, hot pink, and chocolate! You will see my touch of girlishness and glamour all through the blog and magazine! Tweet with me: @Blbartdirector

Hi! I’m Stephie, and I am a super hero. Ok maybe I don’t have super strength, or an iron suit of armour, but I am a work at home mom of 2 of the best kids ever (yeah, they’re that cool). Not only am I a mom, I’m also the owner of a successful photography business, and an artist. Like my photography, my personality and list of likes is very eclectic. If you don’t find me at the bookstore getting the latest super awesome book, you’ll find me watching most super hero movies, or crafting something. I love all types of music, classic rock being my favorite, and fashion just check out my Pinterest boards…I love it!!! Tweet with me: @Blbstephiejoy

Media Director

Shawn Epps Hi, I’m Shawn, Media Director for BLB. I’m an overly-organized cleanaholic. My house is so spotless that you could eat off the floor, but I wouldn’t advise it. I moved to Florida 10 years ago to get married after a long 4 month romance. Hey, when you’ve found Mr. Right, you just know, you know? My husband and I have a combined crew of 5 kids, 4 of them teenagers. Never a dull moment! I’m very artistic. I love to paint, draw, craft, and sew. I’m also a jokester. My daughter tells me, “mom, you’re so immature” several times a day, and I love it. I’m not what you’d call “high maintenance”. I’ve never had a mani-pedi *gasp*, but I do adore fashion, especially bridal! Working for BLB has been an amazing experience for me. Expect big things to come! Email: info@abeautifullittlebride.com

O

ur first issue of A Beautiful Little Bride has given me more butterfly flutters than I have had since my first high school crush! Spring is all about rebirth in nature, from the buds of new flowers blooming to new baby birds spreading their wings and taking flight. It has been a dream of mine for over 10 years and is now being fulfilled and becoming a beautiful fashion-forward, chic source for brides! When we decided to take our baby blog and transform each detail into a print magazine, in just 6 weeks- I thought that we were all a tad off our rockers, to say the least. Though this last 6 weeks have been a crazy journey of ups and downs, laughs and tears, one thing is crystal clear - what makes A Beautiful Bride unique and magical! We trust our team, we trust our sense of style, beauty, and grace!

Our team is composed of the best art director, editorial team, leading hair stylists, celebrity makeup artists, beauty gurus, national fitness trainers, fashion advisers to the stars, and sex and relationship experts... it was a thrilling ride but we did it! We proved that with a team of experts, a little glitter, lace, diamonds, and magic... poof... a breathtaking magazine was born. What makes us different? The bride is the most important part of any wedding. From the tons of squats, lunges, push ups, and diets she does to get into into bridal shape. The dozens of dresses she tries on until she slips in “the one”. The intricate sparkle of each delicate accessory chosen, the cascade of the perfect veil length all complement her gown. The careful trialruns and selection of her custom hair design, and the flawless glowing makeup that is the finishing touch to a beautiful bride. A bride that makes a room full of people stand to their feet in awe when she walks down her white carpet. each step taking her toward her handsome groom. Not to be left out, her leading man’s style polished and perfect and those of the supporting cast, best friends and family lining both sides of the aisle honored to have the titles of bridesmaids and groomsmen! The smile and roll of a single tear down the perfectly shaved cheek of the husband to be as he says “ I do”, to the breath you take away from him when he sees your hon-

eymoon lacy lingerie, those are the important parts of the wedding. We leave the (*cough cough* boring) details like invitations, linens, and RSVP lists to others. We are your perfect source for all things fashion, beauty, fitness, and sex. From the Gods and Goddesses of Fashion at Pantone, we bring you the Spring/Summer 2013 colors and color of the year. In this issue you will find new silky and stunning lace creations from gown designers, elaborate and detailed accessory creations, the newest trends for your tootsies to slip into, fitness countdown for perfect strapless gown arms, sexy honeymoon tips, and so much more. Our vision is that through the pages of this magazine you see a glimmer of yourself in one of our five brides. That you realize fashion and style does not fit into just one look or genre. Bridal fashion and beauty is as unique as each bride-to-be and seen through the eyes of a green bride, just as it can be seen through the eyes of a rock star, glamour, destination, or Nerdy bride. Fashion and Beauty is personal, it is emotional, it is expressive, and it is every woman!

Fake the perfect glow How to

hues warm skin, creating a sculpted glow with shimmering, honey highlights. Two shades, $49. All skin types)

When you’re head over heels, your lovey-dovey hormones are written all over your face, you have an undeniable radiance. Your brain is full of dopamine and oxytocin. Those two feel-good hormones, even in super low levels, cause an increase in blood flow to the skin that spikes circulation along with the oxygen and nutrients the blood carries, which makes skin more luminous. If your PG cuddle time with your future hubby-to-be turns R-rated, the effects become more pronounced: blood vessels change when you get turned on, giving cheeks a subtle flush. But alas as wedding planning piles on top of your already ‘mountnever-rest’ list of to do’s, that loveydovey feeling can wan. Start using treatments laced with retinol or a prescription retinoid before you tuck in

at night. Both Vitamin A derivatives encourage the formation of blood vessels, naturally brightening skin, says makeup pro Faythe Eloise. The topicals also prompt exfoliation of dead skin cells, giving your complexion an all over radiant bride-to-be glow!

Blood vessels dilate when you get turned on, giving cheeks a subtle flush To instantly achieve the effects of being a head over heals bride that is stress-free and enhance tone, apply a sheer bronzer that has a touch of iridescence. (Try Georgio Armani Sheer Bronze, a soft micro-fine bronzing powder. Copper and bronze

After, blend a little vibrant pink cream blush ( try Revlon Cream Blush in Berry Flirtatious, a weightless, creamy formula that blends easily into skin, adding a sheer wash of color to your cheeks. $9.97.) on top of the blush you usually wear- but only on the apples of your cheeks. The result is an envyworthy complexion that will have friends longing for a little ring-bling too!

Steal HerSt yle Shots of color on the eyes always feels like a bold move, but not when you choose a soft and subtle lavender shade like Emily Blunt. Dior makeup artist Jenn Streicher who created the look said she chose subtle pops of color to accentuate Emily’s pink ruffle dress. We deem this red carpet look “white carpet worthy” for our brides. Not everyone looks flattering in dark smoldering smoky eyes, and this spring is all about subtle pops of color!

Behind the Beauty with Celebrity Makeup Artist

y d r o b i R e Juli

Professional Makeup Artist Julie Riborty has worked with some of the most celebrated people in the entertainment industry. Her work has graced the covers of books and magazines. With her tremendous talents and sweet personality she is consistently booked for beauty commercials, print campaigns, and AList trendsetters for red carpet events. In addition, she contributes her artistic skill set to beauty editorials, fashion shows, and all future brides. Julie’s extraordinary work ethic and genuine personality have afforded her an amazing clientele including recently being hired for the book tour of celebrity Jenny McCarthy! McCarthy’s latest book, “Bad Habits: Confessions of a Recovering Catholic,” chronicles her devout Catholic childhood and growing up poor, both of which left a deep mark on her.

I first meet a bride I like to learn about what makes her feel beautiful and confident; perhaps it’s a smokey eye or a red lip. Keeping personal style in mind along with knowing how she wants to feel on her wedding day, whether it’s sexy or romantic; classic or chic, inspires me to create a look specific to the bride.

She made an appearance on Good Morning America, The View, Bravo, and a few other noteworthy television shows. It was an incredible learning experience and was a lot of fun, too!

What is one makeup “rule” that should be broken?

Redheads can’t wear red lipstick. Of course they can! Skin tone is more important than hair color when While I appreciate the creativity choosing lip color. Red lipstick of all makeup artists, Pat McGrath can look absolutely stunning on a is my icon. I absolutely love her redhead. style!

Who are your makeup icons?

What should a bride look for in a makeup artist?

When did you first know you wanted to be a makeup artist? Not until later in life! I graduated from college with an elementary education degree and taught for ten years. Experimenting with makeup has always been a creative outlet for me, but it wasn’t until after I had my first child that I realized I had the talent to become a makeup artist. An opportunity came my way and I was able to train one on one with an incredible makeup artist from Los Angeles. Since then I have been fortunate to work with a variety of different people and in many different settings.

What inspires you when you meet with a bride for a consultation? Makeup is an expression of individual personality and style. So, when

Professional skill and experience should be considered. A makeup artist should be knowledgeable of lighting and how it relates to makeup. A bride should be able to freely and openly discuss expectations and concerns with her makeup artist and ultimately be put to ease. Be sure to look through a portfolio of images, too. B eauty Count Down 12 You’re engaged! Congrats! Now let’s get down to the most important wedding planning detail: beautifying for the wedding and all those amazing little parties (and pictures) along the way. We’ve got the inside scoop from celebrities and the artists behind them- Tips and Tricks and 12 months of the prettiest hair and makeup. Bridal bootcamp for the perfect curves, sexy scents, the secrets to flawless skin, and how to grow your locks! Ladies welcome to your...

MONTHS

Lengthen Your Locks The Natural Way

You’ve found the gown and it’s the perfect neckline, and of course you’ve decided you want your hair down in lush waves. Time to grow out your long locks for the big day. Start with a sound diet (extra protein) and a follicle booster (try Nioxin Diamax).

Bridal Boot Camp Time If your goal is to lose the extra pounds, or define your arms for that strapless gown (or both), you will want to figure out a well-rounded fitness plan. Make a routine, a mix of strength training, cardio, and stretching. Yes - stretching. It boosts your balance and flexibility, and creates leaner muscles. Contact a trainer and sign up for a gym membership or work your fitness plan at home!

begin a regimen now. To improve your complexion, consider monthly facials and treatments like fruit-acid peels, which refresh skin’s outer layer. Microdermabrasion, a form of exfoliation that uses tiny crystals, is better for sensitive skin. Prices for both range from $100 to $200 per session.

Say Cheese Consult with a cosmetic dentist with as much lead time as possible if you have any chips or crooked teeth you want fixed. Straighter teeth can be achieved several ways, the time frame ranging from two weeks up to two years. A bride’s treatment plan depends on a variety of factorshow straight the teeth currently are, if there are any spaces, etc. So the minute that rock lands on your finger, your dentist should be the first call you make (well, after you tell your parents and friends, of course).

Purge and Splurge!

Top it off

Start experimenting with your hair after you select your gown and a good three months before the event. When doing a consultation with a stylist (if you’re having your hair done at a salon), take any hair accessories you may consider wearing on the day of, your veil if you’re wearing one, and always, always bring pictures that will inspire the look you want to achieve. You don’t want something that is not you. You want something that will make you feel like yourself and will look great in pictures.

Bring on the sweat! Pilates and yoga are great for spot toning, but make extra sure to hit the running track or elliptical too to burn extra calories and get rid of the muffin top. Do intervals, speed up and slow down, run and walk.

Note: Keep your hair in perfect shape by moisturizing your lovely locks. For extra care, try a deep moisture treatment, like Total Keratin Obsession Deep Conditioning Treatment (andreawalkerhair.com)

Grab a big bag and toss out all those half-used and never-used jars, bottles, and MONTHS tubes of products in your drawers. Then go Polish Up splurge and stock up on a set of approved Sticking to that perfect skin care staples: cleanser, daytime moisturizer, routine you invested in the earlier night time anti-age moisturizer, and eye months? Awesome! Now boost the glow cream. You’ll be amazed at how you see factor with an over-the-counter microdermthe results in less than 4 weeks! abrasion kit like Mary Kay or a Clarisonic skin brush and grainy buffing scrub (our Note: Take a chill pill. If you really want a detox power boost consider going on a juice cleanse or green tea! Or the Clean Cleanse MONTHS (www.cleanprogram.com/clean-cleanseMakeup Time Do research in your area and find new) the best makeup artist for your wedding day look. Book a consultation and Needles? eeakk? If you do decide to get Botox, do it at least take a friend with you because you need a month before your wedding to prevent an honest opinion from someone who any bruising or potential bad placement knows you.

Become A Pro You have a year of fun social parties ahead of you. Why not learn to apply your makeup like a pro? Take a one-on-one lesson with a local makeup artist. Between your engagement party, showers, and bachelorette bash, you will be in front of a camera just as much as a hottest new celeb with the paparazzi!

MONTHS Clear it Up!

Blemishes you’ve tolerated. Acne, scars, sun damage- these can be diminished through treatments like retinol cream, lasers, and skin lighteners, if you

(you wouldn’t want a droopy eyelid in your wedding pics). And remember it doesn’t work overnight. It takes between three days and up to two weeks for it to kick in. If you do bruise easily, allow at least six weeks to make sure everything has settled down and your muscles have had time to respond to the treatment. You want to look natural and show your true emotions on the big day!

prevent damage. Note: If you don’t want a little 1st anniversary surprise, now is the time to visit your OBGYN to get on a good birth control pill or find a good preventative alternative for you!

Note: Stay stress-free by planning a date with your hubby-to-be. No doubt at this point he’s ready to ditch the wedding and elope! He just wants you to remember that out of all the women in the world he chose you! Plan some romantic time with your lover- no wedding talk.

2

Note: Amp up your grin! Chances are you’ll want a brighter smile on your big day (hello, cameras!). You can go for an in-office treatment or choose an over-the-counter at home treatment.

1

MONTH Trim it!

Less than an inch won’t kill that perfect down-do! Part company with those fried, split ends and we promise you’ll feel better. Your hair will look fresh and healthy as you walk down the aisle.

Go for a glow You will most likely want a beautiful glow on your wedding day and for your honeymoon. If you want to start building a base tan at home with sunless tanners, now is the time to start. If you choose to go with an airbrush tan you’ll want to go for a trial run to assure you aren’t looking like a worker from Willy Wonka’s Chocolate Factory! Skip the airbrush tanning machines that cause streaks and invest in an airbrush tanning professional (averaging $30-$65)

WEEKS

Flawless Bride

Don’t panic right before the wedding and decide to get an overly aggressive cosmetic procedure! Your skin could have a reaction to any new treatments (think red, blotchy, broken out- not pretty). Do any treatments at least two weeks beforehand, though you can do a basic at-home facial mask one week before. Get an extra exfoliating treatment a month to two weeks before the big day to make skin really glow. And if the worst should happen and you wake up with a gigantic zit a day or two before your big day, swing by your dermatologist’s office for a cortisone injection to deflate it in a hurry.

Mani Time Show your hands some love! Time to pay attention to those fingers that carry a special stone on them. Everyone will want to see that sparkle on the wedding day! Supplement your usual mani/pedi by hosting a girls’ spa night with an in-home scrub, soak, and of course, Cosmos!

SLEEP! There is no other treatment like it in the world! Sleep is your BEST beauty booster!

1

WEEK

Shape it, Arch It

Brows have more longevity than you think (a perfect shape will typically last for a week), so you don’t need to have them done right before your big day. Go to a salon or spa you trust (or comes highly recommended from someone whose brows you like) to have your brows groomed five to seven days before the wedding so you won’t have any residual redness or irritation.

Get Rid of the bush! Most prefer laser hair removal and you can start that six months before the big day and do it monthly. This way, by your wedding day you’ll no longer have to shave, which will definitely come in handy on the honeymoon. If laser isn’t in your budget or if you prefer waxing, you can wax up until a week before, though this depends on how fast your hair grows and how thick it is. Don’t get a wax right before or it will be red and irritated. That wouldn’t make for a very fun wedding night.

Fake A Glow We love spray tans! They’re great at giving a beautiful glow and an even tone, minus the sun damage. If this is the bride’s first time, you definitely want to go at least two times prior to the wedding to test it out. You want to make sure it doesn’t turn out orange or streaky, and see how the color develops and fades. Then, if you’re satisfied with the results, you definitely want to get a spray tan at least three days before the wedding so you ensure the coloring doesn’t come off on clothes, towels, sheets, etc. For the face, test an at-home face selftanner (skip the spray, which may come out too dark) a month before the wedding, and if it works then reapply the day before. Try Lancome Flash Bronzer Oil-Free Tinted SelfTanning Face Lotion, $30.

Note: Run a bath filled to the brim with

Pamper Your Hair Get a straightening or relaxing treatment. Straightening treatments/relaxer should be done a week or two before the wedding. That way the treatment can settle into your hair and appear more natural. If you also need to have color done, have your hair straightened/relaxed first, wait a couple of weeks and then do color, in order to

over color, a week before is plenty of time. You want your hair to be freshly colored, yet leave enough time to fix any mistakes.

Note: When it comes to hair color, if you’re getting highlights, I would recommend getting them a week and a half before your big day. They tend to be a bit more difficult to get perfect. But, if it’s all-

hot water and pour in your favorite bath oil with lavender. Soak and bask in the amazing feeling that soon you will be a Mrs., and close your eyes and picture walking down the aisle and how beautiful you will look on your big day! Picture the look on your groom as he sees the most beautiful woman, his woman, saying “I do”.

Get the Red Carpet Look... for your White Carpet Day! C e l e b r i t y lo o k s t o i n s p i r e yo u r b i g d ay The 70th Annual Golden Globes sets the stage for the “Kate Hudson Look”. According to celebrity hairstylist David Babaii, “I wanted to show off Kate’s healthy, shiny hair into a style that emphasizes her true Hollywood beauty. As the perfect muse and my inspiration, Kate is my generation’s Bridgett Bardot, showing off soft voluptuous hair that is touchable, glamorous and now Kate’s very own signature look.”

Soft, voluptuous, healthy hair never looked more glamorous

~David Babaii

To achieve Kate’s amazing style David used IT&LY HAIR FASHION’S Purity Design Line that gives a natural, long-lasting hold which is perfect for beautiful results. 1. David started with IT&LY’s Pure Water Drops Serum before blow drying. 2. Next, he added IT&LY’s Pure Style Mousse Strong and used a medium round brush at the root area to add volume then switched to a large round brush to smooth and create soft rounded edges. 3. After drying, David created a natural side part spritzing IT&LY’s Pure Volumizing Eco at the base for added lift and down the shaft for more definition. 4. For her sexy fringe he wrapped the bang area around a medium round brush, spraying a small amount of IT&LY’s Pure Volumizing Eco. With the blow dryer temperature on high he directed heat on the brush followed by a quick blast of cool air to set. Gently he removed the brush to release the fringe. 5. With his fingers he combed through and allowed the hair to fall naturally into place. 6. To finish, he misted the hair with IT&LY Pure Definition Hair Spray for soft touchable hair with memory hold. Now everyone will ask, “Can I have the Kate Hudson look?

His story begins over 12 years ago in Paris at the top of the Eiffel Tower. His mother Hilda, a legendary hairdresser from London, saw how unhappy he was with a degree in hotel management. As they both looked out upon the city, she told David it wasn’t too late to change careers and encouraged him to take up hairstyling. After all, as a child, David often spent Saturdays at the salon with his mom, watching her perfect her craft. The beauty industry was a major part of his life before he came of age. 10 things you should know before you say “I do” to hair extensions:

BEFORE

Like eyelashes and spray tans, hair extensions are one of the beauty procedures that women never think of trying until they are walking down the white aisle. Of course every bride from the moment the sparkle hits her finger starts envisioning her wedding day look from makeup, dress, shoes, earrings, and HAIR! Unfortunately not all of us were blessed with luscious full locks or there just is not enough time until “I DO” to grow out your hair. You have the perfect wedding style you’ve imagined yourself and there is a way to get it thanks to modern beauty. It’s very popular for brides to incorporate some form of faux hair into their wedding hairstyle-the key is to choose extensions that will look natural, not “Housewives of Beverly Hills” (sorry Taylor). Here are a few tips to keep in mind when choosing different types of extensions.

1.

Do not be shy, ask lots of questions. How long they’ve been doing extensions, where the hair is coming from, what type of hair it is, what kind of bonding they are using and most importantly if they are certified.

2. Not everyone out there has the experience or proper education to be doing extensions. I have come across many stylist in the past that work in a salon and are not trained nor certified to be installing any kind of extensions. Make sure they have a certification and are trained to do them.

3.

your follow up appointments and use the proper shampoos, conditioners, and brush.

5.

Go to someone who offers some kind of guarantee. If for any reason you’re not happy be sure that your stylist offers at least one free visit to ensure that you’re getting what it is you paid for! Get everything in writing. It’s important that there are no misunderstandings. This way everything is clear and ensures a pleasant experience. Sometimes stylists are so excited about the new booking they will promise you the world and then forget they did.

I noticed actual string that was mixed throughout this so called 100% human hair. Ask where the hair comes from and if it is a specialized hair company then call them to verify your stylist is certified through them.

8.

Ask to see before and afters of their work. There are many people out there that like to use other peoples work and claim it as their own! So not only ask to see their work but ask if you can talk to a couple of their previous clients. Sound crazy? Its not, you are dishing out hundreds if not thousands for your new locks of love. Don’t be scammed.

Going to a salon is not always “better”. Most salons want to make money on the hair so they will charge you double than an individual stylist. This helps them pay all the overhead, rent etc. Most individual stylist will charge wholesale on all the hair purchased through them directly. This is the most affordable way to get beautiful extensions and pay for the service, not the hair.

Ask what kind of products are going to be needed for upkeep of your new hair. Add that cost on top of what you are paying for your hair service. Products can add up to an additional $100 and you don’t want a surprise when you didn’t budget for it. You can not use regular store bought products on your faux hair.

When you have decided to go ahead with your hair extensions, ask to see the hair before it is put on your head. Feel and examine the hair and if you’re not happy with it request that you get a different bundle of hair.

they can damage your hair. Whoever says “ extensions will not damage at all” is lying to you. If you don’t take care of them, they will turn on you. It is very important to go to all

Naughty Spot

10 things to do wit h your

NAKED GROOM

Just because he put a ring on it, doesn’t mean that it’s time for “married people” sex! Consider this your must do honeymoon list to tease, squeeze, and please your new hubby!

In our new “ Naughty Spot” sex column we will give you some tips and tricks on how to add excitement by exploring the naughty side that exists within each of us. Creativity inside the bedroom (or living room, shower, or kitchen lol) is a way to avoid a lifetime love life that is boring and routine. You are taking the first step on an adventure called “ marriage” and it is the married woman who is more on the sexually adventurous side that tend to feel happier, closer and more secure in her relationship than those who are not. It is not all that difficult to figure out why that

is. We as women enjoy feeling sexy, desired, and wanted! Just because he’s “yours’ now doesn’t mean that “it” becomes routine. Some say it’s normal for couples to feel that their love life has become somewhat lifeless after a couple years together. So put a STOP to it now by adding some naughtiness in the beginning! It just takes the right mix of erotic fuel and the desire to create the sexual sparks to reignite the flames of passion...

{Steamy It Up!} A steamy hot shower is always dreamy but the sensual thrills quadruple when you invite your man in for some play. Steam up your bathroom mirror by holding each other close in the shower with the water pouring all over you. This is the perfect position for lots of wet, passionate kissing. The best part is gazing into each other’s eyes, further boosting the intimacy factor. Take turns slowly lathering each other up with a soft, natural sea sponge, tracing slow, sexy circles around your breasts, belly, and inner thighs.

{Use words not touch} Spark his ego by letting him know you want him sexually with a coy compliment. Whisper in his ear the naughty things that you want him to do to you or better yet what you’d like to do to him! Letting him in on your longing for him will totally jump-starts his desire.

{Make Him Hot, Then Cold} Cooling off your guy’s steamy body will definitely get him hotter. Make his desire skyrocket by turning him on to deliciously unexpected strokes, pressure, and temperature changes. Try the classic ice-cube trick to make him shiver with excitement. Have him lie on his back, hold a cube in your hand (or your lips!), and slowly draw an icy line from his neck all the way down his body.

{Tie It Up!} There are more uses than one for that silk tie you spent hours matching up with your wedding theme colors! Tie his wrists together (loose, just tight enough he can’t wiggle out) and then tell him he can only watch, not touch, as you kiss him from head to toe! Just the idea that he can’t use his hands will make him hot!

{Try Finger-Food Foreplay} Have a romantic dinner without utensils so you can feed each other. There’s something sensual about placing food in your partner’s mouth. After a meal like this, serve yourself up for dessert!

{Make Eye Contact}

Photography by: Jodi Lynn Maxwell www.leboudoirstudio.com www.photographybyjodilynn.com

While touching, kissing and caressing play a game where you do not break eye contact. Seeing the desire and lust building in your eyes would make him hot with desire, even if you were wearing a parka in Alaska!

{Be Confident} We all have insecurities about this or that when it comes to our bodies. Turning up your sexy confident side is a big turn on. Doing a little strip tease will knock his socks off, because you are HIS woman. Out of all the women in the world he chose YOU because you are the most beautiful woman in the world to him. So smile and strut your stuff

{Change it up!} Move your love making out of the bedroom and onto the kitchen table, the living room couch, or even on the hood of your

car in the garage! Catching him off guard and demanding a little unexpected lovin in a new place is sure to leave you both breathless!

{Slippery when wet!} Skinny dipping isn’t just for the big game in high school. Sneak your naked groom into the pool, hot tub, lake, or ocean for some water fun! The cool water mixed with skin on skin invites a new level of lust!

{What he won’t ask for but wants!} He will never admit it, but he likes to cuddle too. So surprise your guy by cuddling up close behind him in bed, slipping your arms around him for a tight hug. You’ll take him by surprise because he’s the one who normally does the “holding” but you’ll take his breath away with a deep connection in your warm embrace.

Our Favorite Wedding Horror Stories Fashion UH OH’s!

Soon after getting engaged I searched for the “dress of my dreams” On the morning of my wedding day my mother helped to zip me into my dress and the both of us noticed that the zipper was resistant. The wedding ceremony was absolutely beautiful! Our wedding reception was held at a hotel and for the night we booked a room. Before the reception I visited the bathroom in my room and while the matron of honor zipped me back into my dress she noticed that one of the teeth in the zipper was slightly bent. Consequently she carefully edged the zipper upwards. During dinner my husband and I stood up to kiss and the zipper completely broke, resembling as if I was wearing a hospital gown exposing my white thong underwear. I quickly regained my composure and exited the reception along with my matron of honor. It was impossible to pin the dress together due to its sheer weight. Another suggestion was to sew the back of the dress, but this would have taken a long time. Second suggestion was to wear something else but all I had available were jeans and a tank top. There was NO WAY I was showing up to my wedding reception underdressed. Amongst the contents in my bag I found bottles of NAIL GLUE. I told my matron of honor to NAIL GLUE ME, hairspray me, and stitch parts of me back into my dress. The look on her face was priceless. I think that should have been a Kodak moment. My matron of honor was concerned that the dress would

be super glued to my skin which might require medical assistance. I was so desperate and not thinking clearly I did not care about the consequences. Fortunately the guests at the reception were unaware what had happened to me. The back of my dress looked as though it was never unzipped and I had been gone less than 20 minutes. That night after the reception my husband had to cut me out of my dress. Lucky for me the glue was not stuck to my skin. I think my wedding was one of the BEST weddings I ever attended despite the 20 minute wedding dress disaster. I still get tons of complements to this day about my wedding and reception. Never let one bad incident ruin your day. It never ruined mine!

Not without my MOMMY! It was my big day, the day I dreamed of. I checked and double checked with the coordinator to make sure that everything was running smoothly. After getting the approval the everything was going great, I went home to wait for my hairdresser to show up (she was supposed to be to my house no later than 6:00 am). My wedding started at 4:00 pm and everything was done except my hair. My hairdresser forgot that she was supposed to my hair and did not show up until 4:30, by this time I was at the church in tears and a ponytail. She fixed my hair in some quick weird French roll (which did go with my Tiara). Next

event, my husband’s mother, who was from out of town, decided to wait until 4:00 pm to go and find her a pair of shoes to wear. She and my husband’s aunt got lost. Needless to say they never made it to the wedding and my husband was furious. He really wanted his mother there, since his dad had passed and she was all he had. So, I had to contend with an upset husband, angry guests (the wedding was 2 hours and 15 minutes late), a HORRIBLE hairdo and my husband and the coordinator getting into a shouting match in the hallway, because my husband wanted to go and get his mother! Thank God for wedding cake!

HOuston we have a Problem! I was the photographer for this beautiful wedding in Catalina. Everything was running WAY too smooth! The wedding coordinator signaled me that we were going to get started. The guys were on stage as planned. The bridesmaids walked in perfectly. The DJ changed the song for the bride’s entrance right on time. The groom said “WOW” out loud when he saw her for the first time. As the bride approached the stage, she got really confused. We all looked at her trying to figure out what was wrong... she wouldn’t let her dad give her away... THERE WAS NO MINISTER! He ended up arriving an hour later because he couldn’t get a shoreboat (boat taxi) from his houseboat!

Not so high! Brides... wear nice undies and preferably a slip to avoid embarrassment. In a friend’s extremely large and very formal wedding, the maid of honor gave everyone a flash of the bride’s backside as she held up the long train and gave it a “wave” to straighten it. While the guests did not know what was borrowed, we sure knew what was “blue”: the bride’s undies! We want to hear your wedding horror stories. Email us at: submissions@abeautifullitlebride.com

8 STRESS REDUCING TIPS FOR PLANNING YOUR DREAM WEDDING

Congratulations! You’ve been dreaming of this event ever since you were a little girl, and now here you are designing your own fairytalecome-true. There’s a great deal of fun to be had and memories to be made while planning your dream day, but if you’re not careful, fun can quickly turn into frustration when you begin to overlook details or take on too much at once. Your family, friends, and fiancé want nothing more than to see you arrive at your momentous occasion fresh-faced, relaxed, and ready for the ‘story of you’ to come to an end, and the ‘story of us’ to be written. decadence with the chocolate ganache and mocha buttercream. Mmmmm. Delish.

Tip #5- Spread The Word. Most of us understand that booking wedding services when you don’t know the reputation of the provider or the quality you’ll be getting has the potential to turn out badly. This is the time when communicating with friends and family about what you’re in the market for could prove to be very resourceful. You didn’t know it, but your favorite aunt’s best girlfriend, the one that she plays bridge with twice a week, has a daughter that’s a highly recommended wedding photographer, and dear old Auntie’s connection can score you a huge discount. Oh, and by the way, your cousin Joe’s roommate is a popular wedding DJ, and Joe could probably talk him into working your reception for free if you just owe him a favor. People are always quick to offer advice and recommendations when they know of a top-rate service, or have a connection, so use the information highway to your advantage. You’ll find that the most popular social networking sites are good for much more than sharing pictures of your cats or letting the world know about the great deal you found on peep-toe pumps at the mall.

Tip #6- Set Aside Some ‘Pamper You’ Time. Whether your indulgent drug of choice is a candle lit bubble bath with soft music, a comfy chair, glass of Merlot and a good book, or a refreshing facial and massage at your local day spa, it’s important to take a little break from dealing with details, and refocus on you. Taking some time to submerse yourself in a decadent pampering session can not only help you to relax and let go of the frustrations that can

coincide with planning a big event, but it can push the reset button on your mind so that you might recall details that you’d previously overlooked. An overworked bride is rarely a cheerful bride, and your friends and family just want to see you happy. Taking care of yourself is a great gift to give your loved ones. So wind down, breathe deep, and clear your mind. Then offer yourself a guilty pleasure, and take yourself up on it. A champagne truffle or two? Don’t mind if I do.

Tip # 7- Don’t Sweat The Small Stuff.

Uh oh. Those precious little beige

and burgundy candies with your and your groom’s initials printed on them aren’t going to be delivered in time for you to stuff them into the reception favor bags that you’ve painstakingly put together. As unfortunate as that may be, it’s not worth wasting an entire box of tissues crying over. Honestly, will anyone other than you even know the difference if you use a substitute? As smoothly as you want things to run when it comes down to the wire, you may have to put perfection aside before you drive yourself crazy. With the insane amount of details that went into planning this huge event, you’ll need to allow for a snag or two, and don’t let it overwhelm you when they happen. The flowers sure are beautiful, who will really know that they’re a few shades lighter than the orchids you saw in the catalogue? At the end of the day, no one will start a riot because the napkins didn’t get folded into the shape of a heart as you had originally intended. Take a deep breath, let it go, and move on to more important details.

Tip #8 - Know When To Say ‘NO’. Most women are naturally attracted to good love story, and yours is no exception. However, making sure that it remains YOUR love story is crucial. What appears to be the helpful hand can quickly turn into a nightmare when someone is given too much room to try and turn your big event into their own vision. Whether it’s the ‘Momster’, that mother-in-law who “wants nothing but the best” for her son’s big day even if it means taking control to achieve it, or the overbearing sister that has always tried to persuade you to her point of view, nothing is for them to decide. A firm but kind ‘no’ from the first sign of trouble will keep things from getting completely off course and causing a big feud later. Remember to thank them and tell them that you appreciate their desire to help, but at the same time let them know that you have your own plans for the way you want your special day to be. You can never please everyone, and while your plans may not live up to someone else’s idea of style, it’s your story, and you’re sticking to it. So, now that we’ve gotten you well on your way to a peaceful planning process, remember to stay up-to-date on those great style tips at abeautifullittlebride.com. Whether you’re looking for a gorgeous nail or hair style that will really stand out, fitness tips to stay in shape for your day in the spotlight, or an awe-inspiring theme idea from one of our featured weddings, we offer some amazing treasures to be discovered by every style of bride!

Waking Up Married

by Mira Lyn Kelly

Rating: 4 of 5 stars Genre: Adult Romance Book Description: Her first thought: “Who are you?”

It’s the morning after her cousin’s bachelorette party in Vegas and Megan Scott wakes up with the mother of all hangovers. Even worse, she’s in a stranger’s penthouse having woken up with something else as well—a funny, arrogant, sexy… husband! Up until now, finding even a boyfriend had seemed impossible—been there, got the broken heart, sworn off men for good. Then a few martinis with Carter… no, Connor Reed and she’s gone from first meet to marriage in one night! Megan wants a lawyer. But Connor’s shocking bombshell?

“I don’t want a divorce.”

When we sat down to discuss what would be in our premier issue of the magazine we decided that every bride need an escape, and for most of the girls here at BLB we love to read and we figured, what better way to escape the stress of planning then to get away from it for a little while and indulge yourself in a good book? As such the BLB Book Club was born. In every issue you will find a book review for a book that is wedding related and that we think is funny and light hearted enough to give each bride a little reprieve.

excitement with a thoroughly modern twist! Smart and stylish, sweet or sexy, these stories offer fun, flirty reads featuring smart, sassy heroines, equally matched by 21st century alpha heroes!

We thought it was a great match to be able to review it for our first magazine! I had the chance to read “Waking Up Married” by Mira Lyn Kelly recently and it fit the bill. It was witty, smart and there were definitely times I laughed out loud. Though I have to admit the premise of the book is one I have read before - Girl I personally am a lover of romance; goes to Vegas, gets drunk, wakes up hung over...and married and as always he is a I was born with the love of princesses and hot, rich, nice guy (cause you know that knights in shining armor. I read my first always happens in real life). Does this romance novel before I was 10 and I have been hooked ever since. Recently Harlequin sound familiar? In this case Kelly added the leader in romance novels created a new great depth to characters and found a real plot! series called KISS. KISS is sharply contemporary, glossy and chic, attracting I love the way she addressed many of readers who enjoy a short hit of romantic

the complications modern relationships experience every day; letting yourself go enough to find that perfect someone without getting hurt and of course before your biological clock runs out. I found myself getting caught up in the dynamics of their relationship and in the end I was actually rooting for them to make it through and end up happy. Megan and Connor struggle with their real feelings and their individual expectations when it come to a relationship, because just like everyone else they want their relationship to be a certain way. This book kept me intrigued and waiting to find out what was going to happen next I thoroughly enjoyed it and loved that I could escape for a few hours in to Megan and Connor’s world as a little diversion from my own. I give this book 4/5 stars. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.

Boudoir Soft, hazy and utterly romantic describe the beautiful boudoir images brides nationwide are giving as a special gift. They are simply taking grooms breaths away!

What is “Boudoir”?

What t o bring t o your session? Bring a selection of different lingerie outfits that you really like and feel comfortable wearing, the essential being a matching bra and panties set. A basque/ corset or ‘teddy’ are quite good, as they are extremely flattering to most sizes and shapes.

The word boudoir dates back to the Victorian era when it referred to a lady’s private rooms, which she used for dressing or bathing. By extension, boudoir photography describes shots that capture a woman simulating such private activities. The photos show women in lingerie, or without lingerie, posing coyly or provocatively. Brides, who represent the bulk of boudoir clients, Often bring veils, garters, and wedding night lingerie, but their future spouses’ favorite sports jerseys or work shirts are also popular. Boudoir photography has become an immensely growing trend with bride-to-bes.

So is it Porn?

No, (*giggle*), in defense of the practice, “Boudoir is about art.” It’s not about getting naked, but rather, “you’re getting ready to show your best self”. A professional capturing your most playful, sensual, naughty, and gorgeous self!

If the photographer you want is booked for your wedding day, and they do not do boudoir, more often than not they will recommend another photographer with a similar style that they’ve worked with before or know really well. Always ask what happens to the photos once your session is over and what the method of storage it is if you aren’t planning on ordering a album right away. Ask your photographer about digital photo CDs- some photogs will let you keep all of the raw files, while most will retouch them for you before providing you with an online gallery of your proofs. If you have anything silky that you like, be it lingerie or nightwear, like a babydoll, then bring that too, and also bring a man’s white shirt. Also bring stockings, suspenders, different high heels, and a range of jewellery and any other accessories that you like. If there is something that your husband-to-be/partner likes to see you wearing, then bring that- for instance, his favorite team jersey.

How t o choose your phot ographer?

DESIGNER SPOTLIGHT

W

hen Sareh Nouri was young, she’d have loved it if you’d told her that she’d grow up to design her own bridal collection. She loved wedding dresses. But then, what little girl doesn’t? The difference with Sareh is, she never outgrew the phase. In fact, at her nuptials in 2009, her father joked in his speech about her ongoing obsession with wedding gowns. So perhaps it’s fate that the search for her own dress is what really set her down the path to create her own line. As her wedding day approached, Sareh grew ever more frustrated, for she couldn’t find “the one” — a dress that was at once sophisticated and traditional, ethereal and elegant. In desperation, she decided to design her own gown. Fortunately, Sareh had the background

to back up her daring gamble: She’d graduated from George Mason University with a graphic design degree, so she understood how to work with patterns and layouts. A native of Iran, Sareh has been extremely successful in her design career and utilizing traditional Persian art, her work on numerous commercial and nonprofit media ads have gotten her profiled in a number of magazines and books. So she wasn’t just able to conjure up a nice dress, she was able to create the dress of her dreams. Shortly thereafter, a move close to New York City allowed her to pursue her newfound career and passion in the bridal industry. The newlywed realized that, if she had trouble finding the perfect gown for her sensibilities,

hundreds of other brides must, too. And, following her stints working with a highend bridal salon, modeling bridal gowns, collaborating with couture dressmakers and consulting one-on-one with brides-tobe, a new business was born. Sareh Nouri’s first collection was launched at Exquisite Bride in New Jersey. Today, in select US boutiques, Sareh is proud to unveil her labor of love, a collection that is not only romantic and feminine but timeless as well. Her couture designs consist of luxurious, fine imported French lace and Italian silk, a handmade production so light, traditional and elegant for today’s modern bride. Sareh Nouri designs have been featured on top TV shows, such as TLC’s Brides of Beverly Hills and key influencers such as, Miss America.

“I believe finding a wedding dress is like finding a true friend; you should be able to trust it, you should never regret it, and whenever you see it… it should always make you smile.”

mbellished belts are one of my absolute favorite wedding dress accessories, making every gown swoon worthy. This fashion-forward trend from 2012, which was originally spotlighted at Chelsea Clinton’s wedding, shows no signs of slowing. Belts are the icing on the cake; they add a touch of sparkle, elegance, and flatter your figure by defining your waistline. From swarovski and pearls to rosettes and lace, these belts start at $120 - $899, sometimes exceeding the cost of the gown itself!

Hot glue Scissors Small Needle Neutral Thread Tulle Circles Pearls Fabric Flowers Felt Lace Ribbon Satin Ribbon for the Sash itself

lt e B

I started with 6 or 7 feet of satin ribbon and marked where I wanted the flower design to be. I cut a piece of felt as long as the design will be. (this is what I will add all my flowers and ribbon to)

I took 2 tulle circles and made a pie shape and glued it to the felt. (did this on both sides of the felt piece)

Hi There! I’m Stephie…BLB’s Editorial photographer and DIY girl. I love all things crafty and can’t look at an accessory or home design without figuring out a DIY for it. I decided to do this wedding sash DIY first…because I’ve priced them, and I was surprised at the cost! I picked up all these supplies at Michaels, or JoAnns fabrics stores. But you can probably find it all at your local craft store.

I added ribbon to the ready made fabric circles I found at Michaels, and put a circle of felt to the back to secure.

I then glued the felt flower design to the satin where I marked it to sit slightly to the side of the waist.

I added another felt piece to the back sandwiching the satin ribbon. This will make it non-sliding on any wedding dress, and adds security to the whole design. I sewed the jewel to the center or the fabric flower and then glued it to the felt backing.

For the lace yo-yo flower, I wove thread through the lace and pulled until it makes a round flower shape, then sewed it shut and to the larger ribbon circle.

I also added pearl beads to the ready made satin flowers to add texture and depth. After arranging the flowers and lace where I felt they looked best, I glued it all very securely.

I spent about $60 on all the ribbon and flowers and supplies….but I have enough to make a LOT of more designs…which I will be! This piece took about an hour (give or take snack breaks for my 2 kids) and cost about $10 in total supplies…. If you dont have the time to make this yourself check out my Etsy Store for this creative crafts…

GROOMING the GROOM T

he hottest new trend right now in male grooming is returning to the traditional wet shave. Millions of men are now re-discovering this old fashioned method may just be the best possible shave you can get. Major metropolitan cities across the country are also seeing a re-birth of retro style barber shops. They offer the complete wet shave experience which has been referred to as a “facial” for men.

If your future bride is preparing herself for the wedding with spa treatments and pampering, why cant you do the same? Grab the groomsmen and head to your local barber shop just like the girls! You might have to do a little research and find locations in your area that offer this service; expect to pay an average of $20.00 or more.

confidence when you move in for that first kiss!

The authentic straight razor shave is definitely a treat. Reclining in a barber’s chair, heated shaving cream and having a hot towel wrapped around your face can certainly calm your nerves on your big day! When the barber is finished removing your beard, he will provide you with a cold towel to close your pores along with a splash of aftershave; therefore gaining a new sense of

The challenge is; how do you achieve that close shave at home? Luckily, we got you covered with some simple steps you can follow and product recommendations in order to achieve that close shave in under seven minutes!

HERE’S WHAT YOU DO:

1 The best way to open your pores and soften your hair is to take a hot shower. When your beard is wet, the razor cuts it much more easily, making the overall shave more comfortable. If you are unable to shower, place a hot, wet towel over your face for at least three minutes. For optimum temperature, place a wet towel in the microwave on high for two minutes.

2

Fill a sink with hot water and place the brush in the water. If necessary, splash some hot water on your face to keep it from becoming dry. The key to wet shaving is not allowing your skin to become dehydrated throughout the shave.

3 Remove the brush from the water and hold it upside down until the water stops running out. Moving in a circular motion, place the brush in the mug containing a glycerin-based shaving soap or cream. The water that is absorbed in the brush will release into the shaving cream producing a rich, thick lather.

4 Gently run the brush in an up and down motion across your face and neck. The brush lifts and exposes the bristles and exfoliates your skin. The soap will continue to soften the bristles and is less harsh than synthetic shaving creams.

5 Shave by moving the blade with the grain of your whiskers. Going against the grain may be uncomfortable and cut your skin. Pull the skin taut with your fingers but make

sure they do not get in the way of the blade, wouldn’t want you to lose that ring finger! Keep the razor clean as you shave by rinsing with hot water. For a closer shave, relather and shave again, this time going against the grain. Be warned that this may cause redness, razor burn or ingrown hair. Especially on men with sensitive skin.

6 Afterwards, rinse you face with cold water this helps close the pores. Always pat your face dry with a towel, do not rub. It is also recommended to finish by applying a

moisturizer or non-alcohol-based aftershave. Don’t forget to properly clean your razor and rinse out the brush!

by Jeffrey Hamlin

HERE’S WHAT YOU NEED: SHAVING BRUSH Shaving brushes come in a variety of sizes, shapes and hair types. Find one that fits your budget because they can run between $25 all the way up to $550. It is recommended to use brushes with badger hair; however a popular cheaper alternative is using brushes made from boar’s hair which are stiffer in comparison to their badger counterparts. We recommend brushes by Wet Shaving Products who offer a long line of quality brushes to fit any budget.

DOUBLE-EDGED SAFETY RAZOR A high quality, NON DISPOSABLE razor is recommended. Disposable razors are cheaper but their quality is not as good and can be extremely hard on your skin. Men serious about wet shaving use a classic double-edge safety razor. These razors come with a set of disposable blades that can be changed on the fly when they become dull. You will find that you get a much closer shave and have less irritation than using a multi-blade cartridge razor. Double edge razors are also the best choice for African-American men. They tend to have tougher whiskers which if shaved too aggressively with a modern razor can cause painful in-grown hairs. Many of them find that after switching to wet shaving, their painful bumps disappear. Depending on brand and type, double edged razors can run from $20—$120. Merkur makes some of the highest rated safety razors across a broad price range.

GLYCERIN-BASED SHAVING SOAPS There are many brands available of soaps and creams. The general idea is that the soap will provide lubrication making it easier for the blade to move across the skin. It also contains a moisturizer that will keep your skin looking fresh and feeling healthy. It is a matter of personal preference when deciding which one to use. Each person is different; you may have to tailor your choice based on product ingredients and specific skin type. Creams can be bought in different sizes averaging around $20 a tub. A little more expensive than modern shaving gels but when using a brush for lathering, it can last a few months. Mitchell’s has been around since the late 1800’s and has a vast selection of scents and formulas. This makes them an expert in our book.

WHERE TO BUY What better wedding present to ask for from relatives? Many of the products can be found at amazon.com and are sold in starter kits. We also recommend visiting westcoastshaving.com for all your wet shaving needs.

Cocktails

From a guy’s point of view, food and drinks might be the only thing the groom wants (or is allowed to have) any input on. Weddings are first and foremost a party; perhaps the best party a couple will ever throw. Having food and drink that is equal to the event is critical for a memorable good time for the guests. If there is beer, make it one that tells your friends and family you are glad they came. Leave the Bud for the tailgate parties. Try a local microbrew to add interesting local flavor. At the very least, get a keg of Yuengling, America’s oldest beer. For wine, you don’t need to spend a lot. Provide a least one red and one white. Ask your local liquor merchant to help you choose wines that are suitable for the season and locale. Although some of the box wines are quite good, avoid having the box exposed. Decant into appropriate glassware. Ultimately, it is the cocktail that makes the multi-staged party that is your wedding. Plan the drinks like a menu, depending on what parties are involved. Use the drinks as an opportunity to provide color, texture, theme and mood to the event(s). Most importantly, have fun, it’s your party. For some fun drink ideas, try some of the following cocktails.

ROCK STAR Purple Haze #5

A real rockstar cocktail would be something simple, like cold gin straight from a chilled bottle. For something a little more upscale and unusual, a glowing cocktail might catch the spirit of rock and roll, techno, 70’s or other musical eras. Drinks served or displayed with black light can be fun and unique. Tonic Water has a bright yellow glow, but most other cocktail ingredients will glow. The interesting thing about black lit drinks is that they will appear differently depending on how the light hits it. Any mixture of tonic water, fruit juice (cranberry and grape are fun) and alcohol will produce interesting effects. The more tonic water, the brighter the glow will be. Feel free to experiment, after all its rock and roll!

Reyka Forest 1 1/2 oz Reyka Vodka 4 dashes Angostura bitters 4 leaves of sage 3 oz Organic Apple Cider Combine ingredients over ice in a tall glass and stir well. For added effect, chip irregular chunks of ice from a large block

Spank a couple of sage leaves and add to garnish. Serve with a paper straw – no plastic!

Ingredients: 1 oz. cold Gin 1 oz. Cranberry Juice Tonic Water

Serve on ice in rocks glass with an upside down cocktail form offering up a cherry.

GREEN Reyka Vodka is an Iclandic vodka that takes advantage of the country’s pristine resources and environmental consciousness. It is distilled from glacial water which runs through a 4,000 year old lava field in a process involving sustainable geothermal heat (Rayka is Icelandic for “Steam”) to produce a clear, silky taste.

Halo Mobius Cocktail Ingredients: 2 oz. Cruzan Aged Light Rum 5 oz. Mountain Dew Energy 1/4 Lime (squeezed) 2 sprigs Mint Crushed Ice

NERDY A nerdy cocktail is nearly oxymoronic, since nerds are not traditionally known for their social skills or party culture. But these days nerdy is not necessarily diametric to cool. In fact it may be the new cool. So a cocktail paying homage to mathematics and video games is only fitting.

Squeeze your lime over crushed ice in a highball glass. Crush mint and place over. Add the Cruzan and Mountain Dew. Stir, serve with a straw or in a Klein Bottle if you are technically inclined (but not a Mobius glass, that’s a different party) For hints on filling a Klein bottle, see vimeo.com/20390916. Go save the universe. Blue Hawaiian Ingredients: 1 oz. Light Rum 1 oz Blue Curacao 2 oz Pineapple Juice 1/2 Lemon Pineapple slice or Strawberry Fresh Origins Mint Pineapple Tops Cup of Ice

DESTINATION Cocktails are as varied as the honeymoon destinations the married couple can go. For interesting wedding parties, match your reception offerings to your destination. Tequila, Campari, Sake, Anis; the possibilities are endless. For those going to Hawaii or any other tropical destination, try this exotic and flavorful cocktail, evocative of island breezes and pounding surf.

Squeeze Lemon into glass, tear up pieces of Fresh Origins Mint Pineapple Tops and toss in. Muddle this mixture, add ice, Rum and Blue Curacao, then stir. Garnish with a pineapple slice, strawberry, lemon wedge, pineapple mint tops or your favorite Hawaiian flower. Lemon Gingertini Ingredients: 4-6 Ice cubes 2 oz. Gin .75 oz. Lemon Juice .5 oz. Ginger Syrup.

Ginger Syrup is what makes this drink and gives it its subtlety. You can make it by mixing 2 parts sugar, 1 part water and enough grated ginger (to taste) to provide the ginger flavor. Strain out the ginger prior to mixing. Combine ingredients (shake, stir, we don’t care) and serve in martini glass with candied ginger and lemon peel. Squeeze lemon peel on top to extract the oils and aroma.

GLAM For a glamorous cocktail, it hard to beat the classic Martini. Bringing to mind images of Hollywood and the roaring twenties, it is as timeless as it is classy. Many recent variations however have become very trendy (and delicious). Try this refreshing take on an old classic.
