obtaining permission from the donor regardless of whether or not the donation was left over, then he must return the amount spent on the painting to the donor from his own pocket. If the donor has passed away, then give the money to his heirs. If the heirs who have reached puberty give permission to use it for another righteous purpose then it can be used from the share of only those who have given the permission. If any of the heirs is minor or insane it is WÄ jib to give their share to them in any case because they are unable to give permission by Sharč’aÄĽ. If there is no heir of the donor or the heir cannot be traced despite all efforts, then the compensation money must be used for a purpose similar to the one that the donation was collected for. If even this cannot be done then the ruling regarding this money is like that of MÄ l-e-LuqášaÄĽ (i.e. an object found lying on the ground).
