Barley Snyder Partner Elliott Named Fellow in Prestigious Construction Group

The Construction Lawyers Society of America has named Barley Snyder partner Maria Di Stravolo Elliott as a fellow, the culmination of a highly selective process to whittle down the country’s best construction attorneys. Elliott is a former chair of the firm’s Construction Industry Group and is the current chair of the firm’s Real Estate Practice Group. The CLSA is an invitation-only, international honorary association composed of preeminent lawyers specializing in construction law and related fields, according to the organization. Fellowship is limited and selective, with lawyers being invited into fellowship upon a proven record of excellence and accomplishment in construction law at both the trial and appellate levels. “This is one of the leading groups of construction attorneys in the country,” Elliott said. “It’s an honor for me to be considered to join their ranks, let alone to be invited as a fellow. The benefits of being included can only enhance the service I give to my clients.”

Boyer & Ritter LLC CPAs and Consultants Accountant Senahid Zahirovic Receives Pennsylvania Institute of CPA’s 2020 Young Leaders Award

Senahid “Z” Zahirovic, a director with Boyer & Ritter LLC CPAs and Consultants, has been recognized by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA) as a 2020 recipient of the Young Leader Award. The award recognizes PICPA members under age 40 who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to the profession through their active involvement in the PICPA or community. “We congratulate Zahirovic on receiving this honor,’’ said Boyer & Ritter Principal and CEO Robert J. He serves as board treasurer for Crime Stoppers of Dauphin County and is a 2017 graduate of the Leadership Harrisburg Area’s Community Leadership Series program.

Houck Group, Inc. Announces the Acquisition of Progressive Services Incorporated’s Business Assets

Houck Group, Inc. has announced the acquisition of the business assets of Dover-based Progressive Services, Inc. (PSI) to enhance its roofing and roof maintenance capabilities. Houck will employ PSI’s people and acquire their business assets, and the business will operate under the Houck brand. With the addition of the PSI resources, Houck will increase its structural and architectural metal applications. The acquisition will not only strengthen and expand Houck’s service offerings to building owners and facility and property managers in Central PA, but also across the mid-Atlantic region. “Houck has always been a family-oriented company, and we’re thrilled to be adding the folks from PSI to our family,” said Matthew Moul, Vice President of Houck’s roofing division.

Two Registered Patent Attorneys and Two Paralegals Join Saxton & Stump Lawyers and Consultant’s Intellectual Property Practice

Registered patent attorneys Andrew L. Oltmans and Meghan A. Van Leeuwen have joined Saxton & Stump Lawyers and Consultants in addition to paralegals Jean Leisher and Tracy L. Finkenbinder. The move doubles the size of the firm’s core intellectual property team, making it one of the largest in central Pennsylvania. Wagman Construction, Inc. Welcomes Jennifer Cramer as Director of Human Resources

Wagman Construction, Inc. recently welcomed Jennifer Cramer, SHRM-CP, PHR as director of human resources. Cramer previously spent nine years with Wagman’s human resources team and has spent most of her career working in the construction industry. She rejoins the Wagman team bringing 15 years of human resources experience, including talent acquisition, employee relations, training and development and employee engagement. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County and maintains her Professional in Human Resources (PHR) and Society for Human Resources Professionals (SHRMCP) certifications. Lisa Wagman Glezer, senior vice president of Wagman, Inc. adds, “We are excited to welcome Jennifer back to Wagman. H. L. Wiker, Inc., Lancaster, named Walt Buchert Project Estimator. Buchert, of Lancaster, is a graduate of Penn State University and joined the company in 1989. He most recently served as Job Superintendent.
