The Bears Fund: There are many ways to
the Bears!
At Missouri State, we tell students: Follow your passion and find your place. We love that athletics supporters like you are so passionate about Bears teams, and that you have found your place cheering for your Bears. About The Bears Fund
We
flexibility in how you give
The Bears Fund is the annual fundraising program for men’s and women’s intercollegiate athletics at Missouri State. When you give, you make a real difference in the lives of our student-athletes. Your contributions help MSU pay for recruitment efforts, tuition, room and board, fees, books, scholarships and other athletics or educational programs. Bears Fund contributions benefit all NCAA sports programs at Missouri State and enhance the collegiate experience of our nearly 400 student-athletes.
Gifts to the athletics program typically are cash gifts. However, contributions of personal property, goods or services, real estate or appreciated securities can result in substantial support for Missouri State athletics. We are happy to discuss any contribution you might like to make!

progress
MSU facilities have had some amazing upgrades. Thanks to student backing and significant gifts, numerous recreation and athletic areas on Missouri State’s campus have been transformed. B.E.A.R. Fee (Bear Experience and Recreation)
Betty and Bobby Allison projects
In 2013, Missouri State students passed a student fee of $50 per semester, known as the Bear Experience and Recreation (B.E.A.R.) Fee, to help build and renovate athletic and recreational facilities on the Springfield campus.
Philanthropist and businessman Bobby Allison contributed significant gifts to support fitness and wellness. Among the areas on the Springfield campus now named for him and his late mother, Betty:
Plaster Stadium Robert W. Plaster Stadium, home of the Football Bears, was transformed before the first home game of 2014 thanks to both the B.E.A.R. Fee and private gifts. It now has new student seating, new game-day meeting rooms for home and visiting teams, a new playing surface, a new team entrance (Bill O’Neill Way), and a new Bear statue (a senior class gift!) on the plaza north of the stadium, among other improvements.

• Betty and Bobby Allison South Stadium: Has a NCAA regulation soccer field surrounded by a state-of-the-art track • Betty and Bobby Allison North Stadium: Regulation field for field hockey and lacrosse • Betty and Bobby Allison Sand Volleyball Courts: A pair of sand volleyball courts
Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Academic Achievement Center Renovations were made to the academic achievement area inside Forsythe Athletics Center, a space dedicated to helping Bears reach the highest levels of academic success. The center was dedicated in September 2014 and is now called the Dr. Mary Jo Wynn Academic Achievement Center in honor of the legendary MSU athletic administrator. The space features two computer labs, two study areas and other rooms for individual or group work. The renovated space also offers lounges for student-athletes to gather between class periods. The renovations also feature a pictorial timeline of MSU Athletics, an Academic Wall of Fame and recognition of MSU Academic All-Americans.

They have also joined the 110% Club (detailed on page 9 of the brochure) and thus have committed an additional gift of $260.

Seat assessments count as contributions
Priority Points system
MSU basketball and football fans who have season tickets in certain areas of JQH Arena or Plaster Stadium pay a seat assessment to sit in those areas. These seat assessments are tax-deductible donations* and are considered contributions to The Bears Fund. All donations to The Bears Fund are added together to determine your membership level.
“Priority Points” are awarded to supporters based on several criteria: if you are a Missouri State University alumnus, if you are a season-ticket holder, if you have made any gifts to athletics since 1982, if you are a medallion holder in the Founder’s Club or if you are a member of the 110% Club. Points will be updated annually and will determine the selection order for seating upgrades, purchasing of postseason and tournament tickets, away-game ticket availability and more.
* Bears Fund seat assessment contributions are tax-deductible at 80 percent. Outright gifts are 100 percent tax-deductible.
