The German Quarterly is moving to online-only in 2023!

Starting January 2023, The German Quarterly will transition to an online-only publication schedule. AATG members will no longer receive printed issues of the journal or be able to purchase print subscriptions of GQ when renewing their membership. A print-on-demand option will become available starting in Fall 2022 for AATG members who would like to retain print. Members will order a print subscription directly from Sheridan (https://ondemand.sheridan.com/pages/wiley-home), the journal’s printer, using a special discount code provided by AATG. The German Quarterly isn’t currently listed on the website, but it will become available by the Fall.AATG will provide members with the code in October to access the print-on-demand option. Here is more information from Wiley, the journal's publisher, about the transition to online-only:

Online-only publication is increasingly the standard among journal publishers. The vast majority of readership of any journal now happens online, and most readers exclusively engage with the online edition. As we continue to enhance the journal’s homepage, the digital edition provides a level of functionality that is simply not available in print. The HTML article format, for example, is designed with the online reader in mind, featuring improved navigation, reference linking, and article-level reporting on citations and social media engagement. Moving online-only will help secure GQ’s future and ensure its reach in a digital and globalized publishing world.
