Hertford Art Trail, which has proved a popular opportunity to promote both local artists and businesses in the county town, will be taking place in April in a new guise and under new management.

Hertford Town Council, which originated the trail, has dropped it from its annual events list but it has been salvaged by Courtyard Arts Centre which hopes to give it fresh impetus this year.

The trail involves local artists displaying an exhibition of their work in a variety of local businesses, including shops, restaurants and other venues, encouraging members of the public to discover both artists and businesses.

The event will run from Saturday 8th to Saturday 22nd April.

Courtyard Arts director Laura Burns said: “Courtyard Arts would like to not only re-build the relationships with local artists and businesses who have previously taken part but involve the new businesses that have become part of our town and grow the trail over the next few years.” A map will be produced nearer the time for people to use which will contain details of the artists and businesses taking part. But if, in the meantime, you would like to take part in any way, you can find out more at courtyardarts.org.uk.

Council Rebrands Arts Festival

Meanwhile, Hertford Town Council has rebranded the former arts festival that used to include the trail under the name HArts Fest. It will now involve a series of workshops in Hertford castle grounds in partnership with local groups and businesses between Saturday 8th and Saturday 15th April.
