Trentino The Trentino region, in the heart of the Italian Alps, offers a stunning blend of Alpine woodland, valleys, rivers and lakes. From towering peaks in the Dolomites to the almost 300 lakes, including the likes of Lake Garda, it is a superb spot for fishermen and non-fishers alike. Anglers will find a glorious mix of rivers and lakes to test their skills. Brown trout are the most widespread species and are found in the high mountain streams and all the way down to the larger rivers exiting the Alps. As the rivers grow, so does the number of species, with the cool swift flows making a perfect home for spectacularly marked, and highly prized, marble trout and challenging grayling. Fly fishers may also encounter brook trout, rainbow trout and Arctic char (in several high-altitude lakes). The guide team is hugely knowledgeable and can tailor each day to suit anglers and the conditions at hand.
Val di Mastallone Val di Mastallone is in the Italian Piedmont region, at the foot of the Alps and Monte Rosa. It’s a beautiful area, famous among fly fishermen as a paradise of small crystalline rivers populated by an incredible density of trout, including the famous marble trout. Anglers can test their skills on a wonderful variety of rivers and lakes while non-fishers will find plenty to enjoy. There are miles of beautiful rivers to explore, on a variety of private stretches, including the Mastallone, the main Sesia, Carcoforo and many other smaller tributaries. Each section is utterly unique and provides everything from tumbling mountain streams with dry fly hungry brown trout, to larger sections of river with good dry fly pools, nymphing sections and places to tempt large marble trout from the shadows with nymphs and streamers. Knowledgeable guides will tailor each day to suit anglers and the conditions at hand.
