The hotel has 22 miles of wild fly fishing to offer its guests, including stretches on the Tamar and five of its tributaries which are perfect for wild brown trout, sea trout and salmon.
The Arundell Arms comprises 21 rooms and a self catering cottage. Its home from home atmosphere ensures a relaxed stay whether you are fishing or simply exploring the local area.
The rivers are suitable for both beginners and experienced anglers, with the latter able to seek out more adventurous stretches which are not frequently fished and see relatively little fly.
The bar serves lunches and casual dinners while the restaurant is slightly more formal. Both serve food made from fresh, local and seasonal ingredients prepared to an exacting standard.
The hotel is a favoured destination for shooting parties. For both game shooting and stalking the approach is that the camaraderie, hospitality and cuisine are as important an element to your day as the sport itself.
The onsite fly fishing school offers tuition for beginners through to the advanced angler. Experienced guides can accompany you to the river offering advice on the lies, techniques and presentation required.
The onsite Delicatessen offers picnics for walkers and those heading out onto the river or is a lovely place for a relaxed coffee or light lunch. The heated wader room looks after waders, coats, boots and even wetsuits.
This part of the UK features some of the finest driven pheasant and partridge shoots along with fantastic red deer stalking opportunities. The shooting is either arranged by the hotel or is in collaboration with well-established local shoots. These hand selected estates all share our philosophy, and focus on safety, quality and presenting sporting birds to the guns.
