OUR 5 STAR PERFOMANCE PROMISE: HEAT. COLD. HUMIDITY. FLEX. VENT. Heat Our MKII protectors are temperature stable, and won’t start to turn to a soft gooey mess when subjected to unusually high temperatures. This means even when riding on the hottest day of the year, in direct sunlight – you’ll be protected. Let’s be honest though, does anyone ride when it’s 40 degrees celsius? Well you can if you want, and stay protected too. (Just make sure you keep hydrated!)
THE ARMOURGEL ADVANTAGE The science behind the AMPLIFI MKII series is contained in the Armourgel material that forms the centerpiece of the protection range. Armourgel was developed in the UK by scientists and engineers more familiar with creating products for aerospace and military purposes. We’ve taken this technology and re-purposed it for peacetime operations, incorporating the material into our AMPLIFI MKII SERIES. Riding on the mountain is a lot different to testing materials in the lab. We have worked in partnership with our Brit Boffins to ensure that the products that we offer work in all conditions, so you can have ultimate confidence that you’ll be protected no matter what the situation.
Cold The MK II protector is tested at -20 °C and it will protect you in the harshest conditions. The natural warmth of your body will allow your protector to float with your body, stretch, twist and tweak tricks as much as you want - staying close to your body for ultimate protection. You don’t need to worry if you have forgotten in the car throughout the night - the flex will be back!
Humidity Armourgel is NOT a foam. This is important. Foams are full of air, and this means they can absorb liquid – and this results in a reduction in performance. Unlike a foam when our MKII protectors are subjected to any liquid, be it sweat, melted snow, rain, whatever – they will NOT lose any effectiveness when subjected to impact. You could wear our protectors underwater, and they’d still be just as effective.
Flex Because our MKII protectors are flexible no matter what the conditions, the benefits act as performance multipliers. Firstly, it’s about load distribution – instead of point loading specific areas of the back, we micro-load along multiple muscles – reducing fatigue, and increasing your time on the mountain. Secondly, you have a full range of movement – it’s like a second skin that won’t restrict you from any of your regular twists, turns and means that tweaking tricks is still a breeze.
ZERO WASTE PRODUCTION We know we’re not perfect, nobody is. However, every little bit counts, and it’s with this in mind that we’re proud to tell the story of Armourgel and it’s Zero Waste Production process. Every offcut, every spare millimeter of material that would otherwise be thrown away – is carefully collected and upcycled into brand new products! Zero Waste Production is the future, and we’re happy it started here.
Lastly, and most importantly, the protector stays close to your body, forming perfectly to whatever body shape you have. This allows the protector to augment your body, and work with it to protect more efficiently and effectively.
Vent The unique cell structure of the MKII protectors means that air can pass freely through it. The build up of heat, particularly along the spine, is greatly reduced – meaning that you don’t need to perspire as much to regulate your body temperature. Less sweat means more comfort, more comfort means less fatigue, and that means longer days riding.

This year we’ve turned it up another notch with the introduction of the MKII Knee Pro. Based on the same protection principles as our successful MKII Knee, we have “reverse engineered” the Armourgel materials and integrated unique lateral stabilizers – utilizing this revolutionary material in tension instead of compression.

We’ve pared back the designs, to deliver protection where you need it, and ventilation everywhere else. All amplifi protectors are designed in Germany, and tested in the Bavarian alps. Correct fit is key We have designed our range so that nobody is left behind. From the smallest grom, to the most elegant female rider, to the burliest big mountain destroyer - we’ve got something to suit you.
DIMENSION TECHNOLOGY The design is based on multiple 3-D body scans to deliver a protector unrivaled in comfort, fit and function. The protector is contoured along the vertical and horizontal planes. The result is a 3D protector which is almost invisible when worn. A featherweight construction. The particular Polyurethane formula obtains a better specific gravity, in average 30% lighter than most competitors, while still maintaining an elite performance level. The super cutting-edge formula used in AMPLIFI product improves the absorption rate of the impact and wider area where the impact is absorbed for a minimum energy transmission to the body. Additionally the structural design of the protector incorporates flex zones and different thicknesses which would compensate any and every change in firmness of the PU foam. To avoid heat build up strategically based vent holes and channels are part of the structural design as well. Also the thorough design results in a very lightweight protector.

FLY-COMB TECHNOLOGY The FUSE Series combines in each protector element two honeycomb constructions which collect the impact energy to distribute it evenly. The design combines lightness with air circulation, shock absorption and keeps the freedom of movement for the user. A single piece of a three dimensional mesh fabric underneath the protector elements, based on an one piece structure gives great cushioning with shock absorption. Impact energy is spreaded over a large area in a very short time to minimize the energy impact to the body. The 3D design of the fabric works as buffer between the user and the protector and only that allows true air circulation and avoids heat build up. The plates are made of Polypropylene, a synthetic polymer, which unifies great impact absorption, abrasion and shock resistance due to the 2-layer honeycomb design.

MATERIALS All Amplifi materials are carefully selected for its intended purpose. Wether high abrasion resistance is needed or lightweight durability, we have chosen our raw materials with a maximum of diligence.
AIR MESH A three-dimensional mesh fabric for true air ventilation ensuring a great wearing climate. This mesh is super moisture wicking, taking the sweat away from your body. HYPALON A tearproof, abrasive resistant and temperature stable material to withstand maximum forces and wear. POWER WEBBING This high quality knitted webbing is flawless in performance and fucntionality in extreme conditions. We have put the highest standards in terms of durability and strength to it. NON STICK VELCRO Specially designed Velcro which does not stick to other garments. This Velcro is used where fabric pull out needs to be minimised. BALLISTC NYLON Super durable nylon material for areas to outstand extreme forces. The very high thread size makes it extremely durable and increases the tear strength many times.
MIHARO 6.0 The latest innovation in climate control textiles has been developed together with ttri. The basis of MIHARO 6+ is the natural resource of coconut shell fibres. Those fibres have proven to be a leader amongst all other climate control fabrics with their unique characteristics of being a fast growing, renewable source, eco-friendly and a distinguished odor managing function. The blend with Polyester creates a fabric which absorbs odor, is anti-bacterial and works active on moisture regulation for very comfortable and dry. Anti bacterial: Activated carbon works as an efficient adsorbent. No chemicals, nor aluminium used for a non-allergenic function. Anti-static: The structure of the natural fibres defuse static electricity and increase the material durability. Deodor: The natural charcoal infused fibres neutralize odor causing bacteria by destroying their breading environment. UV-Cut: Miharo 6+ provides an ultraviolet protection factor (UPF) of 50, blocking 98% of harmful UV radiation. Far infrared ray: Miharo 6+ helps to expend capillaries and stimulates the blood circulation, which increases the regeneration capabilities and helps to maintain the general health. Thermal technology: It allows your skin to breathe and keeps you dry and comfortable. Moisture wicking: The special shape of the natural charcoal fibre has the ability of quick moisture transfer and quick drying due to its hydrophilic structure.
YKK ZIPPER YKK zippers ensure highest quality levels and friction free function under all conditions. They also follow the Eco Tex Standard 100. 4 ANGLE MESH A very durable and 4 way stretch material which works perfect in areas of high motion without creating unnecessary heat build ups. KEVLAR STRETCH This Kevlar reinforced stretch fabric is needed for areas with high abrasion resistance. Extremely durable but still lightweight and flexible. RESPIRATION MESH This is our standard Jersey mesh material for our protection jackets. It is very lightweight, has 4-way stretch capabilities, dries very quickly and is breathable to ensure highest wearing comforts. 210 NYLON RIP STOP A perfect outer material for our performance backpacks and bags, durable yet very light weighted. It combines high abrasion resistance with little weight. Used in a Rip Stop version, with a square pattern, for even higher tear and abrasion resistance. PU coating for high water repellency. 450 D POLYESTER RIP STOP / 600 D POLYESTER A perfect outer material for our gearbags as it is extremely durable. It combines highest abrasion resistance with a great weight ratio. Also used in a Rip Stop version, with a square pattern, for even higher tear and abrasion resistance. 3D HONEYCOMB MESH A three-dimensional mesh fabric for true air ventilation ensuring a great wearing climate. THE TESTING Within the CE-examination an impact test is used to identify how much energy of an impact is transmitted via the protector to the human body. The lower the residual energy transmitted to the body, the safer the protector is. Characteristic for AMPLIFI protec-
tors is the high absorption rate of the initial impact and the evenly distribution of the residual energy, which results in a minimum of residual energy in case of a crash. Made simple this means: Harder slams = softer impact.
Additionally we at AMPLIFI test all our protectors under various conditions. Wether it is minus 20 째C or over 30 째C under very high air humidity. But this is the only way to ensure that you will have a perfectly functioning protector in every situation. 63
