Driver arrested after driving on wrong side of road early Saturday Burglars raid house
Roswell Police arrested a man for driving down the wrong side of Main Street early Saturday morning. Officers observed a black Dodge Ram pickup truck heading north in the southbound lane of North Main Street at about 2:40 a.m. Justin Tyler Mendenhall, 27, of Roswell, was arrested on a charge of aggravated driving under the influence of intoxicating liquor, according to a police report.
Lottery ticket reported stolen
Roswell Police responded to a report of a lottery ticket being stolen at 1:45 p.m. on Saturday in the 300 block of West Linda Vista Boulevard. A 54-year -old woman reported a lottery ticket valued at $35 stolen. Police have a suspect in the case, according to the report.

Roswell Police arrested a man Saturday evening on a charge of failure to appear. Martin Alejandro Mendoza, 27, of Roswell on a charge of failure to appear, unlawful use of license in the 2600 block of South Union Avenue at about 9:45 p.m. on Saturday.
Police investigate trespassing
A trespassing complaint took Roswell Police officers to the 1500 block of North Missouri Avenue at 10:30 p.m. on Saturday evening. When police arrived the trespasser was gone, but police will seek a warrant for his arrest, according to police.
Roswell Police responded to a report of a break-in on the 1700 block of West Hendricks Street at 1:20 p.m. on Sunday. About $400 in items were reported stolen or damaged, including a microwave, speakers, refrigerator and a table.

Police responded to a report of women fighting in the 1000 block of Stanton Avenue at around noon on Sunday. Police arrested Leslie R. BustamanteAguirre, 31, of Roswell, on a charge of concealing identity.

Roswell Police arrested a man on a drug paraphernalia charge in the 2500 block of West Second Street just after midnight on Sunday. Arrested was Martin Joe Molina, 40, of Roswell, on a charge of possession of parapher nalia. drug According to police, he was in possession of a glass smoking device.
Roswell Police investigated a stolen vehicle on Sunday afternoon. A 2006 green Ford was reported stolen in the 2000 block of North Main Street. The vehicle was valued at $3,000.
Woman arrested on drug paraphernalia charge
A Roswell woman was arrested on a charge of drug parapher nalia at 10:40 p.m. on Sunday. Roswell Police arrested Angel J. Ruiz, 20, of Roswell on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia on the 100 block of East Second Street. According to police, she had a blue and white marijuana smoking device in her possession.
Amazon worker piloted drone around Space Needle
SEATTLE (AP) — An Amazon.com employee from out of town was the operator of a drone that buzzed the Seattle Space Needle this week, police said.
Witnesses told police they saw the craft fly back into a fifth-floor room of a nearby hotel. Police con-
tacted the man and he admitted operating the drone equipped with a camera Tuesday. He told authorities he wanted to try out the craft he recently purchased at a hobby shop.

Eddy County officer honored in San Antonio STAFF REPORT An Eddy County Sheriff’s Office sergeant was honored in San Antonio last week. Eddy County Sheriff Scott London and Sgt. Jacob Jaquez traveled to San Antonio to attend an awards ceremony where several of San Antonio Police Department’s officers were honored. Among the SAPD’s officers who were honored was Jaquez. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus presented Jaquez with a Meritorious Conduct Medal on July 25. The award was for Jaquez’s action on the night of Sept. 9, 2013. Jaquez was off duty in San Antonio with his wife to attend a convention for his wife’s job. While in their hotel room, Jaquez heard a gun shot. He looked outside and saw a SAPD of ficer who had been shot in the head. Jaquez grabbed his gun and badge and left his room to assist SAPD. He remained on scene, assisting for several

hours during the armed stand-off. At the conclusion of the nine-hour stand-off, the suspect surrendered without further injury to anyone. The SAPD of ficer who was shot survived. Jaquez also received a Meritorious Conduct award for the incident from the sheriff’s office during the Eddy County Law Enforcement Memorial and Awards Ceremony on May 14.
