This book aims to provide a key framework for the integration of resilient methods of design into the production of our built environment.
As architects we need to understand the global context in which we are inevitably working, and bring together the pluralities of local and global in the context of our work. This book provides an in-depth outline of the current global situation in relation to the built environment, which correlates key information from multiple sources to provide a comprehensive understanding of the globalized context in which we are working now and in the lead up to 2050. To enable us to comprehend these condition we have developed a key design framework which enables designers to analyse within the built environment in relation to key resiliency principles to determine the extent in which the context in which they are working is resilient across multiple scales. The aim of this book is equip with the knowledge and tools that it takes to design for a resilient future.
