LETTER FROM THE EDITOR -in-CHIEF
from VELO Magazine 2023
by Vision Index
As the pandemic gradually recedes in Taiwan and enter the New Normal, your friends may be planning trips overseas and relishing newfound freedom. Amidst an era brimming with both challenges and opportunities, we aspire for all individuals worldwide to gain awareness of macro and micro trends, adopt ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) practices for a sustainable future, and value their “Me Time.”
With the EU's announcement of the carbon tariff in December 2022, ESG has emerged as the most crucial factor for global businesses to remain competitive. It is evident that we have now entered an era where companies that prioritize ESG and demonstrate a commitment to sustainable practices and social responsibility are likely to have a better chance of surviving and thriving. For years, the founder of Velo, Stella Yu, has been aware of ESG and committed to contributing to a sustainable future. She has consistently demanded innovation and top-quality products from Velo to uphold these values.

As a member of BAS (Bicycling Alliance for Sustainability), we are making preparations for the Taiwanese bike industry to go global. Our efforts have even taken us to the Nordic Circle, where we gained insights into the EU's stricter regulations due to the region's alarming rate of climate change, which is four times higher than the global average.
While we strive towards a sustainable future, we also recognize those who have discovered a passion for cycling during the three years of paused life caused by the pandemic. In this edition of Contact Points, we celebrate the joys of cycling and the importance of “Me Time.” We have many wonderful articles including "From VELO to Love" and "Cherish Our Beautiful Me Time" featuring Velo's VP, Ann Chen, and other fellow cyclists sharing their cherished cycling experiences.
Let’s embark on this sustainable and intimate fabulous journey together!
